The popular sub-brand of the World Poker Tour (WPT) called WPTDeepStacks is heading to the exotic land of Morocco later this month with WPTDeepStack Marrakech festival taking place from 22-30 September.
The nine day series features a total of 26 events which is set to take place in the poker room at the Casino de Marrakech. The highlight of the schedule is of course the WPTD Marrakech Main Event, which has a buy-in of MAD 13,200 (~INR 1.1 Lakh) and features two starting flights. Day 1a kicks of at 4:00 p.m. local time on 27 September while Day 1b will start earlier at 1:00 p.m. the following day.
The starting for all players will be 30,000 chips and each blind level will be 40 minutes in duration with blinds starting at the 100-100 level. Antes will kick in from Level 3 and will follow the recently popular method of Big Blind Ante i.e. the player in the big blind will put up antes for the entire table.
Day 2, set to start at noon 29 September will give more play for the survivors of the Main Event as 6 additional minutes will ve added to each blind level. Play will continue till the field is down to the final nine (no matter how long it takes). The third and final day’s action will begin at 1:00 p.m. on 30 September and the final table will enjoy 60-minute blinds levels from there on till it reaches headsup. At this stage, the clock is reduced to 30 minutes until a champion is crowned.
The last a WPTDeepStacks was held in Marrakech, was almost exactly a year ago in in October 2017> Back then 433 players made up a prizepool of approximately $520,974. Mamouni Smain was the victor of this Main Event then and scored a million Dirhams (~INR 76 Lakhs) as first place prize.
