WPT Cambodia kicks off at Nagaworld in Phnom Penh

Thrilling action, exciting guarantees and long hours of grinding, that’s what the World Poker Tour (WPT) is all about. Taking off from its last stop in India, the most prestigious International festival landed for the first time in Cambodia today in Phnom Penh’s award-winning NagaWorld. A 10-day long series will surely make a difference in the Asian region.

The WPT festival is already a happening event in Japan, India, Vietnam, and other pats of the world, and Cambodia is set to join the list now. The most awaited tournament series for any series is the Main Event and here the WPT Cambodia Main Event will run from 21 – 25 November coming with a guarantee of $250,000 and 100 players have already pre-registered!

The news is quite widespread that a 10k High Roller had to be added into the schedule to be held on 21 November. However, today’s opening action Kickoff Event will wrap up Day 1A and 1B for a buy-in of $440. The series will also host $2,750 No-Limit Hold’em High Roller and a $5,300 NLHE High Roller, Short-Deck, Turbo, Bounty and Pot-Limit Omaha (PLO). And here is tournament schedule for player’s favourite events:

  • WPT Cambodia Kickoff event – 16-17 November
  • WPT Cambodia Main Event Warm-Up 16-17 November
  • WPT Cambodia Deepstack Turbo – 18 November
  • WPT Cambodia MegaStack Freezeout – 18-19 November
  • WPT Cambodia SHR – 20 November
  • WPT Cambodia Main Event (Day 1A – Day 3) – 21- 25 November
  • WPT Cambodia High Roller – 24-25 November.

The WPT has been highly successful since its commencement. This time marking 7th Asian tour and recently WPT VietnamWPT KoreaWPT Japan and WPT India, all gained immense pride. Nevertheless, Asia-Pacific has found another splendid series that will surely attract Indian poker pros who have been making deep runs and representing the nation in Asian Poker Tour (APT) in Vietnam.

Unquestionably, WPT has expanded its reach, especially after partnering with NagaWorld Resorts, the first step taken by them and now is hosting the WPT Cambodia. Angelica Hael, VP of Global Tour Management for the WPT stated, “Asia-Pacific is a hotbed for poker and the WPT is proud to bring another exciting event to the region. This event would not be possible without continued support from players around the globe and we invite them to join us this November at the wonderful NagaWorld property.”
