The biggest series happening right now in Asia is the Asian Poker Tour (APT) 2019 APT Taiwan in the famous CTP Club in the capital Taipei. The Main Event saw its Day 1C, last of the flights, in the books and along with that, one side-event also got over on the day.

2019 APT Taiwan TWD 7.7k Single-Day NLH (Shot Clock) was hosted yesterday and attracted a total playing field of 136 runners. The event saw the winner earning the prestigious Golden Lion trophy, an APT special, and the first-place cash prize of TWD 221,900 (~INR 5.12 Lakhs), and it was Singapore’s Sebastian Wong who shipped it all.

The event paid top 23 places in all, for a min-cash of TWD 9.3k. While most of the players involved were local players or players from neighbouring regions, Switzerland’s Oliver Chopard (17th), USA’s Michael Steinbacher (13th) and France’s Matthew Lamagnere (3rd) were some of the foreigners to finish in the money.

Wong, the champion, has over $60k in live cashes till now and is a good player in the region. He has cashed in tournaments dating back as far as 2016 but he bagged his best live cash last year finishing 6th for $31k at APPT Manila Main Event, won by Wilson Lim eventually.
