There seems to be a high chance that PUBG Mobile could soon return to India. In a recent leak, it looks like Krafton, the developers of PUBG Mobile, are bringing the game back under a new name – Battlegrounds Mobile India. A poster from the game was leaked and had the new name written across it and it looks like the core gameplay will remain pretty much the same.
Well-known game developers, Electronic Arts Games (EA Games) are looking to dominate the market with two titles from its PC franchises. One was Apex Legends Mobile which is already in its beta testing stage and the other is Battlefield Mobile. The Battlegrounds Mobile India and Battlefield Mobile are two highly anticipated games coming to the mobile platform in India.
Renaming PUBG Mobile could be an attempt from Krafton’s side to avoid the game’s ban in the country. While the name has been changed, the developers did not make any significant changes to the game. Although, it has been hinted that the new version will be customized for Indian gamers through features like the in-game items.
It was also reported that players will be able to carry their in-game purchases from PUBG Mobile to the new Battlegrounds Mobile India. Along with this, there was also speculation that the violent graphics in the game like blood splatter will also be toned down. Krafton has also stated that it will partner with Microsoft in order to store player data within the country. This means that there will be heightened security in terms of player data. With Krafton pulling out all stops to make PUBG available in India, fans are hopeful that the game will be ready for launch soon.
