Wednesday Roundup: Himanshu Dewan, Nishant Pandey Win Big!


It was an eventful Wednesday with several flagship events across the major felts of the country dominating the action. The biggest attraction was Spartan Poker’s Destiny INR 30 Lakhs GTD followed by PokerBaazi’s The Pride and PokerStars’ Wednesday special Night on Stars. And here’s a quick recap of all that went down yesterday…

Destiny

Sporting a buy-in of INR 5,500, Spartan Poker’s INR 30 Lakhs GTD Destiny cruised past its advertised guarantee and posted a prize pool worth INR 37.70 Lakhs after 754 entries joined the field. Climbing to the top to take down the title was ‘h4r5hv33r’ after knocking out Saurabh Rohila aka ‘darksider’ in heads-up. The top 80 players were assured a min-cash of INR 15K.

The Pride

Wednesday at PokerBaazi are reserved for INR 10 Lakhs GTD The Pride. The INR 3,300 buy-in event clocked in 328 entries last night. The champion was crowned in Himanshu Dewan aka ‘ISquirtBullets’ who came out on top to win the title for INR 2.21 Lakhs after riding past online regular Sanchit Pande aka ‘Czar’ in heads-up. Pande collected the second place payout of INR 1.55 Lakhs.

 Night on Stars

The featured tournament on PokerStars India was the INR 8 Lakhs GTD Night on Stars. The event logged in 290 entries. Money reached the top 47 spots who walked out with a min-cash. Nishant Pandey aka ‘Balaark’ captured the title for INR 1.22 Lakhs after the players settled for a three-way deal that saw ‘Prison M!ke’ ending in the second place for INR 1.33 Lakhs and ‘Bluff0388’ in third place for INR 89,515.

Big Bubble Rush

Another event on PokerStars India was the Big Bubble Rush INR 5 Lakhs GTD, collecting a prize pool of INR 5.62 Lakhs which was paid out to the top 41 places. An anonymous player ‘cardshark6191’ topped the field of 225 entries after the players settled for a heads-up deal. The winner captured INR 44,916 in first prize while his opponent Abhishek Chhajer aka ‘abhiaum’ bagged INR 44,529 for finishing second.
