Wednesday Roundup: Choudhury, Patnaik win AOPS titles!


The mid-week is right here, and one can clearly notice the enthusiasm for the weekend among the poker fanatics. Last night saw plenty of big winners among the prominent online poker felts in the country. Spartan Poker hosted Destiny INR 30L GTD, The Pride INR 10L GTD on PokerBaazi, Adda52 Online Poker Series (AOPS) main attraction was AOPS Wheel INR 20L GTD and PokerStars’ Night on Stars INR 10L GTD. And here is a complete summary of Wednesday night winners, keep reading if you have missed out on anyone..

Destiny

One of the most popular and last night’s headlining Wednesday flagship event on Spartan Poker was Destiny INR 30 Lakh GTD which pulled out 672 entrants in search for the top prize. The entire tournament saw the creation of INR 33.60 Lakh in prize pool, successfully surpassing the assured guarantee. Outlasting the field and booking his seat in the Destiny SnG Finale was Naresh Veeravalli aka ‘FreeFlow’ who defeated ‘Ss_gilli’ in heads-up and bagged the title along with the cash prize.

Mega Freeze

After hours of grinding, the last man standing was online reg Rajat Mahajan aka ‘BloatedBelly’ who clinched to the prize money after eliminating his opponent Akash Gupta aka ‘Akash0510’ in heads-up.

Thursdays are reserved for The Pride INR 10 Lakh GTD at 8 pm on PokerBaazi. Last night saw 379 runners chipping in INR 3,300 and generating a prize pool of INR 11.37 Lakh. Capturing the largest share of the same was Ankit Wadhawan aka ‘d00mtr00p3r’ who added INR 2.39 Lakh in prize money to his bankroll while his opponent Gagandeep Singh aka ‘gaganhyd’ earned the second-place payout of INR 1.67 Lakh.

Wednesday SuperStack

The Wednesday SuperStack INR 3 Lakh GTD on PokerBaazi crowded the field by 171 entries, once again, creating a slightly bigger prize pool of INR 3.42 Lakh. Money reached the top 21 places and INR 3,796 was the minimum cash. Coming out on top was Manish Lakhotia aka ‘thekid’ who defeated Abhisekh Rathod aka ‘AbhishekRathod’ in heads-up for INR 85,060 in prize money while Rathod banked INR 59,610.

AOPS Wheel

Bagging consecutive titles, Sagar Choudhury took down AOPS Wheel INR 20 Lakh GTD on Adda52. The event gathered 970 entries who paid INR 2,750 buy-in, generating INR 24.25 Lakh prize pool. Top 103 places finished in the money securing INR 4,365. Eliminating AOPS Big Stack Turbo winner Ashish Ahuja in heads-up, Choudhury clinched to INR 5.90 Lakh prize for his victory while Ahuja claimed INR 3.21 Lakh.

Topping the list was Sagar Patnaik aka ‘passivity’ who knocked out ‘eshankapoor’ in heads-up to secure INR 5.37 Lakh in top prize!

Night on Stars

It took over 8 hours for the ultimate winner to take home the prize money before which the top 55 fighters earned INR 5K in min-cash. Outlasting Gokul Raj aka ‘Haxton Jr’ in heads-up was ‘#ziddihunmain’ who shipped the tournament, pocketing INR 1.85 Lakh in prize money while Raj earned INR 1.36 Lakh.
