Wednesday Roundup: Abhinav Iyer grabs third title this week!


Here comes the mid-week but the spirit among the poker enthusiasts remains the same! The tournaments across the major platforms are increasing their guarantees as the 21-day lockdown continues and as usual, Spartan Poker was leading the charge with Destiny 14.0 INR 45 Lakhs GTD. The PokerBaazi Monthly Value Series (PMVS) is underway until 5 April and this special edition assures INR 2.1+ Crore GTD. Other sites too crowned their worthy winners. Destiny

The popular Wednesday tourney giving you an opportunity to grab the Las Vegas package was hosted on Spartan Poker last night. Destiny INR 45 Lakhs GTD saw its prize pool reaching up to INR 54.10 Lakhs, the top 85 players earned a share from the same. Booking the second seat in Destiny Finale was Siddhanth Kripalani aka ‘sidstack’ and the champion added an impressive 7-digit score to his poker bankroll after defeating ‘TheWitch007’ in heads-up.

Mega Freeze

Another feature tourney on Spartan PokerMega Freeze INR 6.5 Lakhs GTD was joined by 250 entries after each chipped in INR 3,300. The advertised guarantee was surpassed, generating a bigger prize pool of INR 7.50 Lakhs which was shared among the top 31 places. Abhinav Iyer aka ‘Schumi91’ rode past the field and clinched to the first-place prize money while his opponent Rishi Gupta aka ‘BollywoodNight’ ended up earning the second-place payout. The WSOP bracelet winner collected third title this week after already taking down PokerBaazi’s The Bout and Big Slick on Adda52.

Deepstack Bounty

Capturing his second title yesterday was Rohit Mishra aka ‘ShippingYard’ who took down PokerStars’ Night on Stars and emerged victorious in Spartan Poker‘s Deepstack Boutny INR 5 Lakhs GTD. In level 43 of the tournament, Mishra railed out his opponent ‘ajay2706’ in heads-up with his 88 and King kicker, thus, claiming another title on Spartan.

Destiny Junior

Outlasting the field on Spartan Poker‘s Destiny Junior INR 6 Lakhs GTD last night was Mithun Mahesh. As the tournament proceeded creating a bigger prize pool of INR 7 Lakhs GTD, the top 60 finishers earned a min-cash of INR 2,800 at least. Mithun, playing under the username ‘Intuitionnn’ knocked out ‘TheKaliCartel’ in heads-up with his AA over his opponent’s high card Ace.

PMVS #2

The monthly value series on Pokerbaazi is right here and PMVS Event #2 INR 5 Lakhs GTD ended successfully. A total of 379 entries registered themselves after paying INR 1,650 and it was online reg Pranjal Gandhi aka ‘lilmessi’ to seize the winner’s prize money of INR 1.19 Lakh after beating ‘PINCIOTTI’ in heads-up who earned INR 83,569.

PMVS #4

Pokerbaazi hosted 5 PMVS events yesterday and the second last was PMVS #4 INR 7 Lakhs GTD which garnered a total of 335 entries collecting a prize pool of INR 8.37 Lakhs. One of the prominent names in the industry, Jaydeep Dawer aka ‘JDBhaiya’ defeated Vikas Yadav aka ‘nohomejerome’ in heads-up to secure the winner’s title. Dawer took home the first-place prize money of INR 1.85 Lakhs while Yadav received INR 1.29 Lakhs for settling in the runner-up position. 

The Pride

Pokerbaazi‘s Wednesday flagship tourney The Pride INR 10 Lakhs GTD was a part of the PMVS series, currently underway. Last night garnered a total of 646 entrants who paid INR 3,300 as buy-in, leading to the collection of INR 19.38 Lakhs in prize pool, the top 81 finishers walked out with a min-cash. Defeating Siddharth Chaturvedi aka ‘siddchat’ in heads-up was Ankit Jajodia aka ‘akj290’ who profited INR 3.57 Lakhs for outlasting the field while his opponent settled in the runner-up position for INR 2.5 Lakhs.

Night on Stars

PokerStars’ Wednesday flagship tourney Night on Stars INR 10 Lakhs GTD registered a total of 460 entries after paying INR 2,750. Eventually, this number led to the creation of a bigger prize pool of INR 11.50 Lakhs. At 3:39 am, the last man standing was Spartan Mega Stack champ Rohit Mishra aka ‘PillowFight22’ who boosted his poker bankroll by adding INR 2.04 Lakhs in prize money and defeating ‘clickasaur007’ in heads-up who settled with INR 1.50 Lakhs. And that wasn’t enough for the winner who raced to take down Spartan Poker’s Deepstack Bounty too! (read above).
