WATCH: Most CRUEL Way To Exit WSOP 2022 ME

In poker, there are good, mediocre and worse hands. And then there are poker gods who turn your good hand into a winning one. The beauty of the game lies in the fact that nothing can be easily predicted until the river reveals itself. But in the current situation, the Big Slick worked its charm and bought its owner the much-needed boost.

A rare and brutal knockout took place at the World Series of Poker (WSOP) 2022 Main Event (ME). The final table (FT) was set, and the contenders were looking out for the first casualty on the FT at blinds 600K/1.2M. Asher Conniff tanked for a while before raising all-in with his 17.7 million chips from the middle position. The action then moved to Michael Duek in the small blind, who snap-called to generate a pot of 37,800,000 chips. Duek showed AK suited, and Conniff flipped pocket tens to take the lead. This left the Argentinian and his boisterous rail on their feet.

But what happened on the flop had everyone drop their jaws in sheer shock. All three community cards opened were kings, and Duek flopped quads with his king. As Conniff dejectedly got up from his chair, picked his bag and accepted defeat as he greeted his fellow players on his way out. Duek hugged his rail as they burst into cheers, as he had scored a knockout apart from scooping the hefty pot.

Well, this indeed was a brutal way for Conniff to get eliminated on a WSOP final table. The 10th-place finisher cashed $675,000 in prize money. However, we’re sure that this hand would remain fresh in his memory for a really long time. Not because it was a bad beat, it was a very CRUEL flop.
