The 11th edition of the India Online Poker Championship (IOPC) July 2021 has entered yet another week of intense poker action. While the last feature tournament, Blaze of Glory found a winner in Harshad Barve, this week’s feature tournament—United with ₹1.5 Crore in guarantee, is yet to find its winner.
On Sunday, Day 2 of IOPC Jul 2021, United took place and had a total of 3,067 entries across all flights. The ₹5,500 buy-in event surpassed its original prize pool. Eight players made it to the final table and the tournament was paused. The fight for the IOPC United title will be live-streamed today on Gutshot’s Facebook page at 6 PM. Before that, let’s take a look at all the players that made it to the final table (FT) of IOPC United.
The final table for IOPC United tournament was led by Vishal Omprakash Bajaj aka ‘CrownUpJr’ with a chip count of 7,409,680. With 74 big blinds (BB), Bajaj has a good head start. However, his numero uno position could be gone soon, thanks to poker pro and Gutshot’s January e-magazine cover star, Gaurav Sood aka ‘mozzie17’ who is only a few chips behind with a stack of 7,250,367.
With 73 big blinds, Sood is only one big blind short from Bajaj. Spectators can expect him to take the lead in the final table which will be live-streamed today.
The third highest chip stack of 4,038,192 belongs to Suraj Todi aka ‘GotNoChange31’ who hails from Bangalore and is a strong contender for the title spot even though he started playing online MTTs only a year ago. But Todi has his work cut out for him with 40 BB, he will need to fight his way especially since he is 33 BB away from Sood.
Next up, we have Piyush Jain aka ‘jacks_apart’ with the fourth highest chip lead (3,340,244) and 33 BBs. Among his most notable achievements, shipping the Adda52 Millions Highroller title for ₹6.7 Lakh was a remarkable feat. Compared to the rest of the players on the FT, Jain could be the one who many consider an underdog. But the fact that he managed to battle his way through hundreds of entries to get here means he has a fighting chance.
The list continues with Amit Ajwani aka ‘DoctorGTO’ with a chip stack of 3,154,608 and 33 BB in the fifth position. Ajwani has been playing since 2012 and has also managed to clinch the Millionaire title on Spartan Poker in January 2018. It will be interesting to see how he tackles the players and fights his way to the top.
Well-known in the Indian poker circuit and an IOPC reg, Sreekanth Narayan aka ‘GL1DE’ found himself with the sixth highest chip stack on the final table. Narayan made it to the FT with 2,544,162 chips and 25 BB. With over 32 online titles to his belt, don’t be surprised if you find this pro gaining momentum in today’s live-stream.
Usman Alam aka ‘Witty.White’ had the second lowest chip stack (1,961,793) in the seventh position. He recently shipped the Elite tournament on Spartan Poker and is another pro on the final table. Lastly, Neeraj Kumar aka ‘Jannat25’ had the lowest chip stack (970,954) and just managed to make it to the FT at the eighth spot. Kumar only has a meagre 10 BB in his kitty and might be the first one to bust.
