Vijendra Kumar Sharma Beats Top Pros To Nail Godfather On Adda52


As the 12th edition of the India Online Poker Championship (IOPC) kick-started yesterday with the utmost vigor, the action on the virtual felts of Spartan Poker was undoubtedly intense. However, that didn’t deter the action on Adda52, PokerBaazi, and PokerStars as some of the top pros like Nikita Luther, Abhinav Iyer, Kartik Ved, Dhaval Mudgal, Gaurav Sood, Kunal Patni among several others were seen grinding on these platforms. Let’s quickly run through the action of the night.

Godfather – ₹25 Lakh GTD

Adda52’s staple Godfather witnessed 552 entries battling it out; the top 55 places made it in the money. The final prize pool crushed the initial guarantee and stood at ₹27,60,000. The min-cash stood at ₹12,420. Vijendra Kumar Sharma aka ‘sadhu16’ shipped the tourney and added ₹6,62,400 to his bankroll. At the runner-up spot, Vikk Sharma aka ‘UniquePersonality’ walked away with ₹3,86,400.

WSOP bracelet winner Abhinav Iyer (3rd, ₹2,62,200), Sanat Mehrotra (4th, ₹2,07,000), MPL poker pro Dhaval Mudgal (7th, ₹69,000), Gutshot’s January 2021 e-magazine cover star Gaurav Sood (11th, ₹34,500), IOPC #2 winner Manish Lakhotia (15th, ₹27,600), FTS 2.0 Main Event winner Siddharth Karia (33rd, ₹17,940), Ashish Ahuja (41st, ₹15,180), WSOP bracelet winner Nikita Luther (45th, ₹12,420), Minissha Lamba (50th, ₹12,420) and FTS 3.0 leaderboard winner Vinay Rajpal (53rd, ₹12,420) also made it in the money at this tourney.

The Summit – ₹15 Lakh GTD

The action on PokerBaazi’s virtual felts was unmatched as the advertised guarantee was crushed by over a million rupees and stood at ₹25,80,000. The top 45 places out of the total 344 entries finished in the money. The min-cash at this tourney stood at ₹14,450. Mystery player ‘Srini2021’ nailed the tourney for ₹5,42,000. Arjanveer Singh Chadha aka ‘holdbaby’ finished second for ₹3,79,000.

Vishnu Khandelwal (5th, ₹1,35,000), IOPC July 2021 leaderboard champion Anuj Yadav (10th, ₹39,470), NPS Main Event winner Mohammad Azhar (18th, ₹27,610), Mithun Mahesh (20th, 24,₹250), Sanat Mehrotra (29th, ₹16,770), IOPC #5 Thursday Spotlight winner Aditya Singh (31st, ₹16,770), Tanmay Benara (33rd, ₹16,770), Vishal Bajaj (37th, ₹14,450), IOPC #1 Launch Party winner Yash Chitre (38th, ₹14,450), Kanchan Sharma (40th, ₹14,450), Neel Joshi (42nd, ₹14,450), Raghav Bansal (44th, ₹14,450) and Ashish Munot (45th, ₹14,450) were some notable names that made it in the money.

Players like IOPC January 2021 Main Event winner Laksh Pal Singh (49th), FTS 3.0 winner, Ankit Wadhawan (50th), Gutshot’s April 2021 cover star, Siddharth Karia (59th), WSOP bracelet winner, Kartik Ved (60th), Vinayak Bajaj (62nd), Manish Lakhotia (69th), PokerStars Winter Series’ Highroller runner-up Myron Periera (74th), IPC 2020 Main Event winner Rubin Labroo (79th), and Adda52 game ambassador Kunal Patni (81st) left the tourney empty-handed.

Winter Series-63 Highroller – ₹11 Lakh GTD

Highroller on PokerStars witnessed 188 entries. The initial guarantee was crushed as the final prize pool stood at ₹13,16,000. The top 23 places made it in the money and the min-cash stood at ₹15,938.

Devang Yadav aka ‘trappyfish93’ topped the table after firing two bullets. The winner laughed his way to the bank with ₹2,61,066. Myron Periera aka ‘khAAbib’ fired three bullets and finished at the runner-up spot for ₹2,01,703.

Other notable names who made finished in the money at this tourney included Gaurav Sood (3rd, ₹1,55,839), Nitin Arora (7th, ₹55,530), Sanish Chhabra (13th, ₹23,684), Ayush Garg (14th, ₹19,429), Neel Joshi (16th, ₹19,429), Manish Lakhotia (18th, ₹15,938), Kartik Ved (20th, ₹15,938) and Abhinav Iyer (22nd, ₹15,938).
