The 2022 US Poker Open (USPO) will soon end with one event left. Event #10: $25,000 Pot-Limit Omaha was shipped by PLO specialist Dylan Weisman for $416,500 while two-time USPO champ Sean Winter shipped Event #11: $25,000 No-Limit Hold’em for $440,000.
With a total of 49 players, the $25,000 PLO event recorded a final prize pool worth $1.2 million. After some high-octane action on the live felts, the Upswing Poker Coach reached the final table where he knocked out all five of his opponents.
The first to go was Isaac Kempton who busted in the sixth position for $73,500. 2018 USPO overall champion Stephen Chidwick was eliminated in fifth place for $98,000. Matthew Wantman was next to go in fourth place for $134,750. Busting in third place was 2021 GPI Player of the Year, Ali Imsirovic who walked away with $183,750. The final heads-up play was between Cary Katz and Weisman.
In the final hand, Katz had Q♦️J♠️3♠️3♦️ on a board of 5♠️2♦️J♥️Q♣️ but was beaten by Weisman who had A♣️8♣️5♥️5♦️. Katz went all in but the A♥️ on the river didn’t improve his chances and he busted in the runner-up position for $269,500.
Weisman made it to four final tables in the US Poker Open 2022. He finished fifth in Event #2: $10,000 Pot-Limit Omaha, fifth in Event #4: $10,000 Big Bet Mix, sixth in Event #8: $15,000 Pot-Limit Omaha even scored his first World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelet in 2021.
