Tokyo Olympics 2021: Punjab Government Decided To Reward 1 Crore₹ To Every Player of State Hockey Team: The Punjab government has announced a huge bounty for the players of the Team India hockey team that won the Tokyo Olympics 2021. The government has announced that a cash prize of Rs 1 crore₹ will be given to the players of the state hockey team who won the bronze medal in the men’s hockey match against Germany in Tokyo Olympics 2021. The announcement was made by Punjab Sports Minister Rana Gurmeet Singh Sodhi. He tweeted that this is a historic day for Indian hockey. Looking forward to coming back with a more prestigious Gold Medal.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke on the phone with Indian hockey team captain Mandeep Singh, coach Graham Reed and assistant coach Piyush Dubey. Modi extended special congratulations to all the members of the team on the occasion. 

India won the Tokyo Olympics 5-4 match against Germany on Thursday. In addition to securing the bronze medal, he is also credited with winning the Olympic medal for the first time in 41 years.

The Indian men’s hockey team made history by beating Germany at the Olympics and winning a bronze medal, It presented another medal to India in hockey after 41 years. With this, there are showers of praises on Team India. 

Already, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, President Ramnath Kovind and many other political, sports and film personalities have congratulated the Indian team. Meanwhile, the Punjab government has recently announced a huge reward for hockey players. The government has announced a cash prize of Rs 1 crore for players from the state. 

There are currently 8 Punjabis in the Indian hockey team. Team captains Manpreet Singh, Mandeep Singh, Harmanpreet Singh, Hardik Singh, Rupinder Pal Singh, Shanshir Singh, Dilpreet Singh and Gurjeet Singh are from Punjab. 

The government initially announced that it would give Rs 2.25 crore₹ per player if it won gold. But, Now winning the bronze will give crores of rupees. According to our sources it is a known fact that the hockey team also receives incentives from the Government of India.
