Thursday Roundup: Anuj Yadav Wins IOPC Super High Roller!


Weekend is right around the corner and poker players across the country are highly excited for Spartan Poker’s IOPC series that is about to crown its Main Event winner! In today’s roundup, we will bring to you the main attractions of Thursday on virtual felts and here’s a complete recap of all that went down…

IOPC Main Event – The Crown Day 1D

The entire week’s main attraction has been INR 3 Crore GTD IOPC Main Event on Spartan Poker, sporting a buy-in of INR 11,000. Four of eight starting flights have completed, and Thursday was reserved for Day 1D that added another 409 entries. After 4+ hours of grinding, only 54 survivors were left to progress to Day 2. Bagging the massive stack was ‘dharatal’ 248,489 and the second largest stack belonged to Kartik Ved aka ‘TheInternetKid’ with 248,083 chips, ‘potlords’ in the third place with 222,580 chips.

IOPC #99 Super High Roller

The star performer of the night on Spartan Poker was none other than popular circuit grinder Anuj Yadav aka ‘tittooTauji’ who took down IOPC #99 Super High Roller guaranteeing a whopping INR 1 Crore! The INR 1,05,000 buy-in event drew 149 runners to culminate a mouth-watering INR 1.49 Crore prize pool. After 10 long hours, the Yadav defeated Siddarth Singhvi aka ‘PeterPunter’ in heads-up to add a 7-digit figure bankroll along with the prestigious IOPC title to his already illustrious poker resume. Vivek Singh aka ‘KasolHieghts’ followed in the third place and Abhishek Goindi aka ‘MambaMentality’ finished fourth.

IOPC #98 Ultron

The Thursday flagship tourney on Spartan Poker, INR 40 Lakhs GTD IOPC #98 Ultron registered 1,055 entries last night. The event turned out to be a smashing hit, and the top 103 finishers took a share out of the juicy INR 42.20 Lakhs prize pool. Racing past the competition was circuit regular Avadh Shah aka ‘cateyes’ who collided with Pranav Bagai aka ‘Boller’ in heads-up for the title. Shah eventually prevailed to collect his second IOPC title after already taking down Tuesday flagship tourney IOPC #86 Mega Stack INR 35L GTD.

IMPS #97 Highroller

The ongoing IMPS Series on PokerBaazi saw IMPS #97 Highroller INR 10 Lakhs GTD pick up action at 8 pm. Paying INR 2,200 buy-in, the tourney registered a strong field of 925 entries producing a smashing prize pool worth INR 18.50 Lakhs. Taking home INR 3.24 Lakhs in top prize was ‘blacksuit22’ who railed out Vinay Rajpal aka ‘vinay09’ in heads-up. Rajpal banked INR 2.21 Lakhs for finishing runner-up. On Tuesday, the latter took down Night on Stars INR 8 Lakhs GTD for INR 1.12 Lakhs.

The Summit

PokerBaazi’s signature Thursday tourney, The Summit ran with INR 20 Lakhs prize pool guarantee last night. The event registered 265 entries that assured 36 players a min-cash of INR 13.6K. It took over 8 hours for the tournament to wrap up and winning the top honors was Harsh Dembla aka ‘100crdream’. He walked away with the top prize of INR 4.42 Lakhs after defeating Rubin Labroo aka ‘kornkid’ in heads-up. Labroo went out with INR 1.99 Lakhs for second place finish.

APF Godfather

Circuit regular Aman Bhadu topped APF Godfather INR 30 Lakhs GTD on Adda52 last night. The event drew 587 entries while money reached the top 63 players. The last man standing was Bhadu playing under the username ‘zontory’ who outlasted ‘insanium’ in heads-up for INR 7.05 Lakhs in first prize. The latter settled in the runner-up position for INR 4.11 Lakhs.

APF Mega PLO

Another attraction on Adda52 last night was INR 10 Lakhs GTD APF Mega PLO logging in 79 entries. Eventually, the champion was crowned in Siddarth Singhvi aka ‘badtameez_donk’, the runner-up of IOPC SHR who collected INR 2.30 Lakhs for his incredible finish after eliminating Ankit Kapoor aka ‘helter_skelter’ in heads-up who secured INR 2.09 Lakhs payday. Money reached the top 8 players who went out with 3K as min-cash.

Highroller

Thursday nights are reserved for Highroller on PokerStars India and it was the site regular Vivek Singh aka ‘Mystic Peaks’ who triumphed the competition. The INR 15 Lakhs GTD tournament clocked in 205 entries out of which the top 34 secured a min-cash. Singh defeated Gaurav Sood aka ‘3betPanda’ in heads-up to take home the lion’s chunk of prize money INR 2.94 Lakhs. The latter captured the second place payout of INR 2.16 Lakhs.
