Throwback To When Mukesh Surana Shipped The IPC Feb 2016 ME Title


The India Poker Championship (IPC) is a live poker festival awaited for, by poker lovers across the world. This highly-anticipated poker festival returns in May 2022 with a bang. The much-needed action will take place in Casino Vegas, Nepal and will have some of the biggest names from the industry competing to clinch coveted titles.

While all the events are major crowd pullers, the main event is one such tournament that everyone waits for. Reminiscing some of the best highlights of the past IPC, we came across the victory of Chennai-based poker player Mukesh Surana. In February 2016, this player made history when he clinched the IPC Main Event title and pocketed ₹11.70 Lakh. We quite remember the time when Surana shipped this event and kept repeating ‘it feels great, it feels great!’

 

Surana battled it among 196 entries and 36 survivors that resumed on day 2. And eventually opted for a deal with Aditya Agarwal who took home a pay cheque of ₹8 lakhs. This was one ME that had a furious pace as there were several disruptions in electric supply, leaving the poker room in complete darkness. However, braving through it, players managed to wait it out as IPC crowned Surana, the winner.

Surana’s winning hand was 5C,5S, against Agarwal’s AC, KS. The community cards opened to 3D, 8H, 5D, 7D,6H favouring Surana. Other notable players who made it to the FT in this 2016 Main Event were Jaideep Sajwan, Pavan Jain, Vikram Kumar, Murhol Dzimtry, Rajat Sharma, Riyaz S, and Danish Shaikh.

His gameplay hasn’t stopped till today as you can see him grinding on virtual felts and crushing it big almost everyday. Only time will tell who would clinch the IPC Megastacks May 2022 Main Event title. So grinders, get ready to run shoulders with some of the top pros from the industry in the upcoming IPC megastacks event.
