Captain Pollard goes unbeaten on 2 runs. The Aussies were 96-7 when Starc was ruled out. Adam Zampa 36. Wade added 36 runs. Aston Agar scored 41 runs. Shai Hope played a beautiful knockoff, 38 off 43 balls and smashed six fours in the run chase.

Matthew Wade, along with Mitchell Starc, formed a 51-run partnership. Team Australia was down 45-6 and was expected to break the low score of 70 against England from 1977. Aussie would have also broken the record against New Zealand from 1986.
