Terminator Playing WSOP ? Who Is This Player?
The World Series of Poker (WSOP) is going on in full swing at the Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas. And guess who showed up to play the $50,000 buy-in Poker Players Championship (PPC) at the WSOP 2023? It was a terminator! No, we’re not kidding! Check it out for yourself!
Terminator At WSOP
It was defending Players Championship winner Dan Cates also known as ‘Jungleman.’ He came dressed in full Terminator costume at the event. PokerNews captured a video of Cates whispering the famous Arnold Schwarzenegger dialogue “Hasta La Vista” from the Hollywood flick.

The event is undoubtedly special for Cates since he is on a hat-trick to win the title for the third time straight. Cates claimed the title in WSOP 2021 and WSOP 2022 consecutively. Cates defeated Ryan Leng in the heads-up to claim his first bracelet in 2021. Last year, he returned and defended his title by claiming his second bracelet after beating Brazil’s Yuri Dzivielevski heads-up.
Cates has earned a combined $2.4 Million from his two bracelets. Additionally, Cates, who is more into cash games and online games, has four cashes at the WSOP. If he manages to win this event, he will have three bracelets to flaunt and will join Michael Mizrachi as the only three-time Poker Players Championship winner.
Chris Moneymaker at Poker Players Championship
Legend and the iconic 2003 WSOP Main Event champion Chris Moneymaker was also spotted grinding at this event. Moneymaker made history by qualifying for the Main Event via a satellite and shipping it for $2.5 Million. Ever since, the poker player has had just nine cashes at the WSOP. He marked his attendance at WSOP 2023 in the PPC event. It would be interesting to see which other marquee event Moneymaker participates and manages to have a deep run.
