The Friday night on the online felts commenced with poker players from all over the country participating in high-value tournaments. Poker platforms like Spartan Poker, PokerBaazi, and PokerStars saw high octane action and many of the top pros took home titles. Here’s the full recap on last night’s poker action.
The Winter Celebration Series continued on Spartan Poker and last night the platform hosted the WCS #78 – ₹12 Lakh guarantee tournament. There were a total of 535 entries that battled it out on the online felts and the top 47 places were paid. The buy-in of the tournament was ₹165. The min-cash given was ₹6,840.
In the winner’s seat was player Gadadhar Behera aka ‘Indianthug’ who won the lion’s share of the prize pool and took home ₹2,01,380. The runner up position was taken by player Ajay Saharan aka ‘ajay2706’ who walked away with ₹1,81,059 in prize money.
The WCS #80 Elite with a ₹30 Lakh guarantee was the second high-value tournament hosted by Spartan Poker yesterday. A total of 340 excited entries stormed the felts and participated in the event. The ₹11,000 buy-in tournament managed to generate a final prize pool of ₹34,00,000 which crushed the advertised guarantee. In the end, the top 31 players finished in the money and the min-cash stood at ₹29,920.
Poker pro, Tanmay Benara aka ‘PlusEv’ grabbed the top spot after a deal was made between him and player Mohit Mittal aka ‘magicmountain.’ Benara took home ₹5,48,554 in prize money while Mittal walked away with ₹5,32,020. On Thursday, Mittal also took home ₹1,39,422 after finishing in the 8th position in the WCS #72 High Roller ₹50 Lakh GTD on Spartan Poker.
The Weekly Highroller on PokerBaazi attracted a total of 162 entries and had a buy-in worth ₹11,000. The final prize pool was ₹16,20,000 which crushed the original guarantee. The top 18 players made the money and the min-cash stood at ₹21,220.
Manish Lakhotia aka ‘thekid’ shipped the event and had a payday of ₹4,17,150. On the same day, Lakhotia also finished in 8th position at the WCS #78 on Spartan Poker for ₹29,280. Player ‘vinod127515’ was the runner up and walked home with ₹2,92,000. Other pros that made the money were Vishnu Khandelwal aka ‘violator’ (5th, ₹1.04 Lakh), Punya Behera aka ‘madhumangal’ (7th, ₹69,340), Ritwik Khanna aka ‘Ritwikkhanna’ (8th, ₹55,570), and Gaurav Sood aka ‘gaug17’ (13th, ₹24,950).
PokerStars had players rushing to its platform to play the Super Highroller tournament. The tournament had a total of 104 entries and the buy-in was ₹12,500. The prize pool generated was ₹11,81,856 which surpassed the initial guarantee. The top 13 places were paid and the min-cash stood at ₹29,250.
Mystery player ‘garima14’ grabbed the title spot for ₹2,22,640 while player Deepesh Raka aka ‘deep12322 ’was the runner up and went home with ₹2,58,864. Among those who made the money were Anuj Yadav aka ‘brockLesnar95; (4th, ₹1,23,378), Gaurav Sood aka ‘3betPanda’ (6th, ₹72,776), Sahil Mahboobani aka ‘inaboobham’ (9th, ₹32,969), Sanat Mehrotra aka ‘durrsanta’ (10th, ₹29,250), and Suresh Kolli aka ‘Wabi-$abi’ (13th, ₹29,250).
