Sudhanshu Khanna wins Big Daddy at Spartan

The monsoon season has already hit the southern parts of India and the rest of the country is within sniffing distance of it. While Goa has always been associated with sun, sea and sand, it can be a beautiful destination even during the rains. For winners of the Big Daddy tournament at The Spartan Poker, the weather might not matter so much as they will be within the cosy confines of the Big Daddy casino as part of their winning package.

The package in question is what’s headed the way of Sudhanshu Sudesh Khanna a.k.a $ubZero who claimed the title of Big Daddy on Sunday night. He wins not only the prize money for emerging victorious in this tournament but also a Free travel and casino package worth INR 30,000 to Goa! This included to and fro flight tickets, 2 nights stay in Goa as well as free entry into the Big Daddy casino stationed on the waters of the Mandovi River in Panjim. 

The INR 5 Lakhs guaranteed Big Daddy (buy-in INR 550) takes place every Sunday afternoon at 4:00 pm and yesterday the guarantee was crossed to make it a prizepool of INR 5,20,000 courtesy of the 611 entries participating in this tournament. 87 places were paid out a minimum of INR 1,612. From over 600 entries, it finally came down to two in the headsup battle. $ubZero was slightly behind ‘tuktuki’ but managed to get some extra padding of 517k chips when he eliminated ‘5t.ang3r’ with his pair of Aces. Headsup battled went on for a fair while between the remaining two players.

They played five more levels of blinds before it came to an end in Level #47 (70,000-140,000-14,000). $ubZero by this time had a little better than 2:1 chip advantage over tuktuki and it was a race between pairs and a bad beat that ended the tournament in $ubZero’s favour. Both players moved all in before the flop with $ubZero holding pocket Sixes versus the pocket Aces of tuktuki. The river gods were smiling on $ubZero as the board came out as Qh Ts 9d 7h 6c giving a set and the win to Sudhanshu Khanna (INR 99,580). tuktuki received INR 61,984  for his runner-up finish. 

Sudhanshu Khanna will now be heading to Goa soon to enjoy the additional spoils of his win and will be hoping to run up his online winnings by playing live poker at the Big Daddy poker room in Goa.
