SSS ME winner Jimmy George now wins Sunday SuperStack

Last month, Spartan Poker launched a special edition of the Spartan Super Series (SSS) called SSS Gold Edition, which included varied buy-ins and guarantees, allowing plenty for small and high stakes players both. The Main Event was taken down by Jimmy George on the final day of the series winning INR 15+ Lakh for the effort.

George is back making headlines now with another major victory on Spartan, shipping last night’s Sunday SuperStack INR 25 Lakh GTD and banking another big online score. The tournament is Spartan’s biggest weekly featured tournament and George had to get past some really good pros before emerging as champion.

The tournament begins at 8pm every Sunday on Spartan Poker and last night, 447 entries each paid the INR 5,500 buy-in to participate. George plays under the name ‘Jabberwocky’ on this platform and he was the last man standing at 4:56am this morning, putting an end to a 9-hour grind!

He may have not won as much as he did in the SSS Main Event, but the player still bagged a very impressive amount of INR 5,01,250 for winning the tournament. This came after he outlasted a number of Spartan regulars and ‘BossBaby3’ in heads-up, the latter having to settle for INR 3,33,250 for finishing second.

39 players received cash prizes of a minimum of INR 17,250 and some of them to end in the money included Rajat Mahajan aka ‘BloatedBelly’ (39th), Ujjwal Narwal aka ‘Lord Hendrix’ (36th), Kanishka Samant aka ‘Wildflower’ (30th), Bibek Karki aka ‘BIBEK329’ (23rd), Aditya Bahl aka ‘addyb’ (9th), Faiz Alam aka ‘DrStrange’ (5th), Abhinav Iyer aka ‘Schumi91’ (4th), and others.

In heads-up, George had managed to build a lead of nearly 2:1 over BossBaby3. Eventually, he held 7 million over his opponent’s 4.1 million chips when the final hand took place. With 7d 5d, BossBaby3 decided to shove all-in on the 4h Ts 3d flop with a straight draw. George made the call with pocket Jacks and the Tc and Qc on the turn and river helped him to go on and win the pot and the title itself!
