Singh, Gala, Goenka progress to Big Wrap PLO Day


King’s Casino is currently host to one of the exciting poker festivals happening in Europe. The Big Wrap, which began on 1st April, will run till 8th April 2019 and had a slew of interesting tournaments with all kinds of formats and buy-ins to suit the variety of players that come to the venue. Most of these tournaments have already declared its champions.

3 Indian pros, Jagdeep SinghGaurav GalaManish Goenka fared well in one of the Big Wrap PLO tournaments, and reached Day 2 but were unfortunately busted before the bubble. They subsequently signed up for another PLO event later in the series.

Big Wrap PLO €1 million GTD kicked off with a buy-in of €2,350 and attracted 317 total entries (including 79 re-entries). The field, till Day 2, eventually whittled down to 170 progressors. Out of the 170, Robert William James Cowen of UK became the chip leader with 1,057,000 chips at King’s Casino.

Leading the pack of Indians was Singh, at 10th in overall chip counts with a stack of 568k. He played some amazing poker, and given his preference for PLO over other formats, it wasn’t surprising that he finished in the top 10.

Gala finished 101st in the overall chip counts with a stack of 208,000 chips. Goenka, one of the organizers of TIPS which ran for its 2nd edition recently which was also held in King’s Casino, also qualified as the 3rd Indian to progress to Day 2 at 151st in chips counts with 100,000 chips. All 3 of them progressed from Day 1B.

Gala recently finished on the FT in one of WPT Barcelona events, along with Singh who took 7th position for ~INR 4.54 Lakhs. India’s Abhishek Goindi finished 2nd in the same tournament for a good pay-check. All three will play Day 2 today with Singh with an above average chip lead.
