Shravan Chhabria wins PokerStars India Wednesday Stars

PokerStars India started its operations in April of last year and has gone on to make a name for itself in the country. They also started off this year on a good note by singing Bollywood sensation Nawazuddin Siddiqui as their brand ambassador. They even set a precedent for mainstream poker advertising in the country by broadcasting Siddiqui-starred ads in popular TV channels like Colors.

Their weekly offerings, though not the biggest in the current scenario, are gaining momentum in the community. Yesterday, the Wednesday feature tournament was hosted on the platform called Wednesday Stars INR 8 Lakhs GTD. It attracted a field of 381 entries (including 167 re-entries) to the virtual felts and even crossed the guarantee by a decent amount.

Though many renowned players participated yesterday, it was Shravan Chhabria aka ‘lukBo$$13’ who claimed the title and the first-place cash prize of INR 1,57,130. Chhabria beat Devang Yadav aka ‘trappyfish93’ in heads-up to bag the top position. The latter, being a regular himself, must’ve put up quite a fight on the platform. Yadav eventually settled for INR 1,15,176 as the runner-up prize money.

Chhabria has had an amazing run in recent months, being a veteran of the community already. He even shipped a PokerStars India title on 1st April, the Battle Royale for ~INR 1.86 Lakhs and is in top form. He plays on all platforms and also took down UMA Poker’s Saturday Shuffle in early March this year for INR 1.47 Lakhs.

Out of the top 63 paid places (min-cash – INR 4,379), some of the regs include Rajat Sharma aka ‘sharabikebabi’ (10th – INR 10,170), Laksh Pal Singh aka ‘B00MTilt23’ (14th – INR 8,238), Amar Mehta aka ‘realkidpoker92’ (15th – INR 8,238), Arsh Grover aka ‘BiggggTymeR’ (36th – INR 5,406), Rohit Mishra aka‘PillowFight22’ (44th – INR 5,406), Sahil Mahboobani aka ‘inaboobham’ (49th – INR 4,379), PokerStars Pro Aditya Agarwal aka ‘Aditya Agarwal’ (60th – INR 4,379), and others.
