Shravan Chhabria, Kartik Ved among final 127 in BIG 50

Several gold bracelets have already been given away in Las Vegas at the World Series of Poker (WSOP) 2019 but Event #3: BIG 50 – $500 NLHE is still looking for its winner, who will receive $1+ million in prize money. The record-breaking tournament has reached the end of Day 3 and from the original field of 28,000+ entries, only 127 remain.

The day began with 7 Indian contenders also among the action, and Shravan Chhabria in the lead. However, five of them busted during the day, now only two Indians left among the final 127 that will play Day 4 on 6th June. Chhabria bagged 11,775,000 in chips, and with him is Kartik Ved who has managed to lock in 7,875,000 chips.

Chhabria is just about an average stack while Ved is slightly below the average but knowing these two, they’re fairly capable of chipping up and aiming for India’s third WSOP gold bracelet. Venezuela’s Amer Torbey finished as the chip leader for the day, bagging a massive 32,500,000 stack.

Many known names are in the mix including 5-time bracelet winner Allen Cunningham who has around 20 million in chips. All of the five Indians who busted during the day received healthy pay-outs. Nishant Sharma finished 215th for $6,054 (~INR 4.19 Lakh), Romit Advani 292nd for $6,054 (~INR 4.19 Lakh), Vivek Rughani 665th for $3,273 (~INR 2.26 Lakh), Dhawal Lachhwani 721st for $2,850 (~INR 1.91 Lakh) and Deepak Bothra 1,090th for $1,953 (~INR 1.35 Lakh).

When these contenders return on Day 4 of BIG 50 at the Pavillion Room in Rio, the pay-outs resume at $7,169, so there’s plenty to play for. However, most of the players returning on Day 4 will only want to go for the top prize of $1,147,449 and a prestigious gold bracelet.
