Hollywood A-lister, Russell Crowe will be hitting the silver screens once again to star in an upcoming movie titled ‘Poker Face.’ Crowe will be taking the lead role in the movie which will be directed by Gary Fleder and written by Stephen M. Coates. Principal photography for the movie is scheduled to take place in Sydney, Australia towards the end of June.
The film will be produced and financed by Arclight Films. Gary Hamilton, Ryan Hamilton, Jeanette Volturno, Jason Clark, Addam Bramich, and Keith Rodger will also be the film’s producers. Crowe himself has just wrapped up filming Marvel’s Thor: Love and Thunder where he will be playing the role of the Greek god Zeus.

The Academy Award winning actor will be playing a tech billionaire named Jake. In the movie, Jake (Crowe) invites his childhood friends to his Miami estate to play a high stakes game of poker. However, this group of friends have a sort of a love/hate relationship with their host, who is portrayed as a master game player and planner. While Jake has designed an elaborate plan to bring them all to justice, he begins to rethink his strategy when he discovers that his house is taken over by a dangerous home-invader.
While it is too soon to say, the plot’s overview suggests that the game of poker will be used solely to set the tone of the film. But as we’ve been taught to not judge a book by its cover, we’ll be waiting for the movie to hit the silver screens to truly analyse if it’s worth the watch or not. Until then, this seems like a classic thriller flick.
