Ramesh Thotapalli Takes Over The Swanky Casa Tito In Goa

Poker pro Ramesh Rao Thotapalli takes over the management of Casa Tito in Goa. This is Thotapalli’s second business venture in Goa. The legacy of this swanky restaurant, Casa Tito, is such that the place is synonymous with Goa and is sure to attract a massive footfall as it is very popular among the locals as well as tourists. We were super intrigued by RRT’s business venture so we caught up with this poker pro to dig deeper into his latest takeover.

What was the reason you chose Casa Tito specifically?

Casa Tito’s legacy goes back to 1900s. It is an established brand situated between Baga and Anjuna beach which is next to the Arpora flea market that gets a crazy footfall over the weekends and during peak seasons. You can say that this is one of the main reasons why we didn’t think twice before accepting the offer. 

Do you have any partners or is this takeover all by yourself?

Gopesh Mehta and I are working with a couple of skilled partners from the culinary industry.

Is this takeover a part of your expansion plan in Goa?

Yes! We have huge expansion plans in Goa.  Soon, there will be big news about more expansions as we are heavily invested in Goa.

During the pandemic, when the restaurant industry took a hit, what was the rationale behind taking over a restaurant and bar?

Yes, the restaurant industry took a hit but we strongly believe that the future is bright. With COVID-19 cases decreasing we are looking forward to good days. We primarily took this decision, owning to the stance taken by the government.

When can we expect the restaurant up and running?

The restaurant is fully equipped with a functional bar and restaurant. We are slightly modifying it to be a sports bar. We would be hosting events on all seven days of the week. Check out the Facebook page of Casa Tito.

Will it be Casa Tito or will you be rebranding?

We are sticking to the original brand name and wish to leverage the brand value that has been built over the years.

I am a poker playing businessman.
