Rachit Gupta crowned Monday Nitro winner after 3-way chop

A new tournament on the block called Monday Nitro INR 8 Lakhs GTD by Spartan Poker, one of the leading companies of the online poker scene.  The tournament was introduced as a replacement to the previous Monday feature, Mega Freeze.

Monday Nitro began at 7.30 pm on Spartan yesterday and was in the books by 1.17 am today morning. The accumulated field of 362 entries (including 61 re-entries and 133 re-buys) chipped in the INR 2,200 buy-in and the top 31 places were paid out of the prize pool, min-cash being INR 7,040.

Rachit Gupta aka ‘Chaddha ji’ (a reference to Amrish Puri’s character in Damini) conquered this field and won the 4^th Monday Nitro title on Spartan. He earned INR 1,31,248 as his part of the 3-way chop between him, ‘FreeFlow’ and Vidwath Shetty aka ‘RoronoA’. The latter 2 weren’t far from the winner prize itself and earned INR 1,17,955 and INR 1,14,2236 respectively.

The grind must’ve been tough for Gupta since the Final Table itself included the likes of Ashish Ahuja aka ‘Spewushhhiiiii’ (4^th – INR 66,120), Sumit Sapra aka ‘holla@yoboy’ (6^th – INR 39,120), Siddarth Singhvi aka ’PeterPunter’ (7^th – INR 28,560), Sahil Mahboobani aka ‘HomelessOnWiFi’ (8^th – INR 20,880).

Gupta, who hails from Bhopal, was elated beyond words to speak to us. He has won a couple of late-night tourneys (INR 1 Lakh and INR 50k GTDs) in the past, but this was the first big ticket win for him. Gupta said, “My overall experience has been amazing, having played across a couple of platforms I feel Spartan is THE place to play poker.”

He continued, “I love Monday Nitro and its reward structure is highly motivating. I was consistently on top right from the beginning and was able to ship it. I’m happy to have performed well against the best regs on the Final Table.” He was beaming with confidence when he concluded, “You would see me breaking into top ranks in future big tournaments too 🙂”
