Polk and Kidpoker heads-up grudge match finalised on 1 Nov!

After two months of inaction, the only two time WSOP Player of the Year Daniel Negreanu and retired poker pro Doug Polk agreed to finally settle their beef with each other in a heads-up grudge match. The Challenge will finally take place on 1 November, between the popular poker players of this generation.

On 29 July, the 3-time bracelet winner officially challenged the GGPoker Ambassador to a heads-up match after posting on his Twitter handle. Both Polk and Negreanu have disliked each other since the time Negreanu was PokerStars brand ambassador. Polk trolled him, igniting a poker rivalry between the two pros. After a series of tweets between the two pros, they have marked the date of the challenge.

They will take part in two NL Hold’em at a time at $200/$400 stakes with 100 BB auto-top up. They will play for 25,000 hands of heads-up, with the person behind initiating an opt out at the midway mark at 12,500 hands. The two could bump up stakes at the halfway mark if both players agree.

The two have been nudging each other on twitter the past few days. It all began with Polk tweeting, “Alright I’m sick of the run around,” tweeted Polk. “Does anyone know how to get in touch with @RealKidPoker so we can actually schedule this match. He tweets at me once in awhile and then goes silent. Its been 2 months and im ready to fucking battle. Let’s work out some details.” Negreanu responded with a sleeky, “Well this tweet is awkward. You all riled up eh!” He further said, “All that’s left is waiting on a final legal opinion to see what options are available. Nov 1st could work. Feel better?”

Polk agreeing to the finalised date, he said, “This process has been quite childish because you won’t just hammer out the details with me unless it’s either A) A Tweet to everyone or B) Me hunting down people that can talk to you.”They also agreed to have Kane Kalas commentate on the live stream. The two stars have been constantly sparring with each other online and that’s why this should be a great heads-up battle.

Two months after the initial confirmation, the match is all set to begin at the start of the next month. The final details are still yet to get worked out but the two seem hell-bent on settling their differences on the virtual felt. For more updates, keep reading GutshotMagazine.com
