PokerStars launches new e-wallet called StarsWallet

The Stars Group is the ultimate owner of industry leading gaming brands such as PokerStars, Stars Casino, BetStars, Full Tilt, and other brands. Continuously expanding their reach, the company has moved into other businesses such as sports betting as well, recently launching a sports betting website in New Jersey and also acquiring SkyBet a few months back.

Now, they’ve delved into another completely new line of business, launching a prepaid MasterCard service that can be direct competition to third-party online e-wallet services such as Skrill, Neteller, paysafecard and others, which have been functioning since years.

The service, called StarsWallet, is said to have launched this month for UK customers, and can be accessed either online and/or via a mobile web application. No press release has been sent out on the same as yet, but the UK PokerStars Casino website has listed StarsWallet as a ‘bespoke e-wallet.’

Players will have to sign up separately for a StarsWallet account and this will not be directly connected to their existing Stars accounts. However, once set up, it’ll be easy to transfer money between the two, with a variety of payment options including credit and debit card, bank transfer and other e-wallets.

This e-wallet service is provided in partnership with Wirecard Card Solutions Limited. Players can transfer money between gaming sites and withdraw the funds either via online transactions and purchases, or even through ATMs, as players will be provided with virtual as well as physical MasterCards.

This is the first time the Stars Group has offered a payment processing solution and the StarsWallet website looks pretty good, where you will have to register via mobile number and then verify on email before you start transferring funds.
