PokerStars announces WCOOP schedule


WCOOPPokerStars releases its full schedule for this year’s World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP).  The world’s most popular online poker site will run 162 events from 3-25 September.

The events will divided equally between 81 “Low” buy-in events (ranging from $11 to $1050) and 81 “High” buy-in events (ranging from $215 to $25,000). The new Low events, which aims to appeal to more recreational player, will run 24 hours after High events and be 1/20th the size. The 2016 WCOOP entire series guaranteed $40 million and this time the series will have a bigger guarantee of $60 million.

During most days of the WCOOP, the series will feature between three or four events. A $5,200 buy-in Main Event will be held on 24 September. ew schedule highlights include the addition of a Low stakes level to the series and a unique phased HORSE tournament.

In addition to the introduction of “Low” events is a new tournament structure. For non-rebuy tournaments, PokerStars players will receive higher chip stacks — 25,000 in Low Events and 50,000 in High Events. The blind levels will be shorter, however the increases between levels will be smaller. PokerStars promises that these tournament will continue to be deep.
