PokerBaazi hosts CSR event for Gurgaon’s impoverished kids

PokerBaazi, one of the premier brands in the Indian online poker industry, has seen major success in recent years. The company has grown by leaps and bounds leading up to 2019. The biggest online tournament ever hosted in the industry, PokerBaazi’s Game Changer INR 2 Crores GTD, is also scheduled to take place between 20-24 February. With this, the company has started its year on the highest note.

In a recent development, PokerBaazi had hosted a social welfare event in Gurgaon to support underprivileged children from the region. The event also saw PokerBaazi’s brand ambassador Vijender Singh, whom they partnered with in Jan 2018.

Around 80 to 100 underprivileged school children were given an opportunity to interact, learn and share their experiences with the multiple-medal winning boxer. Singh met the students and a long positive conversation ensured. He motivated the students to do what they’re best at and said a few things about his own field – boxing, encouraging them to take up sports as it made him the champion that he is now.

Vijender Singh said, “Children are the future of our nation. I poured my heart out to the young minds, I hope my story taught them a thing or two about grit and determination. I’m sure that these students will make the country proud with their own individual contributions to various fields and professions they eventually choose.”

Navkiran Singh, CEO and Founder of PokerBaazi, also said a few words, “We are extremely delighted to have Vijender Singh, an inspiring personality as the brand ambassador of PokerBaazi. Just like boxing, he is the perfect choice to be associated with a mind sport like poker.”

Things like these have happened in the past in this industry. During the devastating Kerala floods that happened recently, PokerBaazi had donated huge sums to concerned NGOs by hosting special a Kerala Flood Relief Tournament. The company has a keen interest in solving social causes and had previously donated to Clean Yamuna campaign and sustainable food development programs for underprivileged kids.
