WPT Online: Dan Smith wins SHR; Sam Greenwood leads Championship


One of the oldest live poker brands, World Poker Tour (WPT) has joined hands with partypoker to host an exciting 2020 WPT Online Series. Thousands of hopefuls have taken their seats and plenty of winners have walked out claiming the prestigious title. Continuing to build a momentum with many of the calendar’s biggest running events yesterday and the first trophy of last night went to poker pro Dan Smith!

The Event 37: $25,000 buy-in WPT Online Super High Roller attracted a field of 91 entries which eventually saw the creation of $2.27 million prize pool. The competition continued for hours and Dan Smith powered through the field to claim $555,503 in prize money after eliminating Daniel Dvoress in the runner-up position. Dvoress managed to secure second place payout of $465,871. With over $36 million in live earnings, the latest champion sits 4th in United States all-time money list and rank 1 in Nevada!

WPT Online Championship Event $5 million GTD

Canadian poker pro Sam Greenwood became the overall chip leader in the WPT Online Championship with a towering stack of 4 million. The entire event garnered a field of 2,130 in four starting flights with only 398 hopefuls taking their seats on Day 2. The tournament crushed the guarantee to collect a prize pool of $6.39 million.

Greenwood is now leading with only 35 survivors in pursuit of the $1.04 million in first-place prize. The chip leader is closely followed by Austria’s Pascal Hartmann and UK’s Max Silver. Other players still in contention include Ami Barer (2,565,406), Benny Glaser (2,387,788), Orpen Kisacikoglu (2,244,109), Matthias Eibinger (1,824,308), Martin Jacobson (1,135,335) and so on.
