Wednesday Roundup: Vivek Singh, Amrit Mishra, Vineet Kumar win

One would think it could get really boring in the middle of the week but we can’t say the same for poker players as there’s always something or the other on offer. Spartan Poker had Destiny last night while AOPS is still running strong on Adda52 while a couple of other leading websites are running micro-stakes series for the heavy grinders in the industry. Read for more updates on last night’s online poker action…

Destiny INR 30 Lakh GTD

It’s not the first time he’s won a feature on Spartan Poker and it’s probably not going to be the last either. We’re talking about Vivek Singh aka ‘KasolHieghts’ who took down Destiny last night and walked away with a pretty handsome prize while also booking himself a place in the Destiny Finale SNG. The guarantee was slightly beaten and after an 8-hour grind, Singh outlast ‘Wazza92’ in heads-up to take home the title. Phanindra Akkina finished 3rd while Kanishka Samant ended in 5th place.

  • Prize pool – INR 30.7 Lakh
  • Buy-in – INR 5,500
  • Entries – 614

AOPS Maverick

Adda52 has been hosting some of the biggest tournaments as part of their Adda52 Online Poker Series (AOPS) and yesterday, they hosted AOPS Maverick which had a strong participation considering its buy-in of just INR 2,500. Sumit Sapra has been having a ball in online poker over the last week or so and he almost ran away with yet another title, playing as ‘HammerHead’ on Adda52. However, he couldn’t get back Amrit Mishra aka ‘amrit1111’ in heads-up and ended up finishing as runner-up for a prize of INR 2.31 Lakh. Mishra took away INR 4.3 Lakh and it was a tough final table indeed, with the likes of Madhav Gupta, Deepak Singh and others on it.

  • Prize pool – INR 17.22 Lakh
  • Buy-in – INR 2,500
  • Entries – 757
  • Places paid – 82
  • Min-cash – INR 3,789

Night on Stars INR 11 Lakh GTD

Part of the Micro Knockout Series which is a very popular series on PokerStars India, Night on Stars was also popular because of the bounty format. We had 442 entries join the game and the grind turned out to be a 7:34 hours long, where Vineet Kumar aka ‘TheMentalistNo1’ ended victorious. He waled home with INR 1.1 Lakh from the tournament prize pool and nearly a lakh from bounties as well, after beating ‘yash1805’ in heads-up.

  • Prize pool – INR 11.05 Lakh
  • Buy-in – INR 2,750
