Wednesday Roundup: Madan Kumar Leads IOPC ME Day 1C


An eventful Wednesday night with domestic attractions being Spartan Poker’s INR 25 Crore GTD IOPC and Adda52’s APF INR 5.8 Crore GTD. And here`s a quick recap of all that went down across the major online platforms yesterday, so keep reading…

IOPC Main Event – The Crown Day 1C

Only four more days and four starting flights before the record-breaking series comes to an end on Spartan Poker. At 6 pm in the evening, players were prepped up to hop on INR 3 Crore GTD IOPC Main Event Day 1C and eventually a good number of 459 entries paid INR 11,000 to battle through the day. Within four hours, 64 players progressed to Day 2 and the biggest stack belonged to Madan Kumar aka ‘madsysman’ who accumulated a stack of 252,039. Sandeep Varma aka ‘effuno’ is bagging 219,681 chips and ‘Glober’, in the third place with 215,030 chips, thus rounding up the top three.

IOPC #92 Destiny

Playing under the username ‘kabira speaking’, the well-known circuit grinder Pranay Chawla took down IOPC #92 Destiny INR 50 Lakhs GTD on Spartan Poker. The event pulled in 1,145 entries, smashing the advertised guarantee to create INR 57.25 Lakhs worth prize pool. Chawla knocked out ‘poxz’ in heads-up and secured a 7-figure score. This was his second IOPC title in the ongoing series after triumphing Event #81 INR 7L GTD on Day 12. Just after his win, Chawla took to his Facebook handle and posted, “Well, that’s one way to put an end to a downswing! This one was special!” He wishes to donate INR 1 Lakh to COVID relief from his winning.

The Pride

Wednesday flagship INR 10 Lakhs GTD The Pride on PokerBaazi brought in 322 entries. This number resulted in the top 36 players walking away with a slice from the final prize pool. Coming out on top was Priyank Kothari aka ‘Piko1432’ who defeated ‘Amarjeet’ in heads-up for INR 2.21 Lakhs in first prize. The latter banked INR 1.55 Lakh for runner-up position.

Wednesday SuperStack

The 6-Max Wednesday SuperStack INR 3 Lakhs GTD on PokerBaazi brought in a full house of 184 entries (including 56 re-entries) that resulted in a guarantee-crushing prize pool of INR 3.08 Lakhs. With the top 18 places assured payouts, a champion emerged in Sandy Lamba aka ‘Ziigmund’ who netted INR 79,310 for his win while Siddharth Pandey aka ‘Siddonuts’ claimed INR 55,530 for ending up in the second place.

APF Eclipse

The APF Eclipse INR 10 Lakhs GTD on Adda52 logged in a player pool of 163 entries (including 77 re-entries) for a buy-in of INR 5,500. The top 17 players took home INR 15,000 as min-cash, but the lion’s chunk of prize money belonged to well-known circuit grinder Ashish Ahuja aka ‘rocky3705’ who eliminated Neeraj Bajaj aka ‘NEERAJ2828’ in heads-up. Ahuja pocketed INR 2.70 Lakhs for finishing first while Bajaj captured INR 1.70 Lakhs for ending up second.

APF Maverick

In Adda52, the Maverick’s advertised INR 15 Lakhs GTD was smashed on the back of a field of 709 entries. The top 72 places got a piece of the INR 16.17 Lakhs prize pool. Rohan Soman aka ‘rohan142’ took down the title and claimed INR 2.86 Lakhs in prize money while his opponent Chiraag Patel aka ‘vipervenom’ seized INR 2.67 Lakhs, earning the second-place payout.

Night on Stars

The event concluded after a four-way deal that saw Vinay Rajpal aka ‘VINAY09’ claiming the top prize and walking out with the Wednesday title. PokerStars India’s marquee event Night on Stars INR 8 Lakhs GTD pulled in 291 runners and 47 players locked INR 5.6K at least. Rajpal secured INR 1.12 Lakh in cash prize and ‘yash1805’ finished 2nd for INR 1.09 Lakh, Sourabh Gehlot aka ‘ravenlaw410’ in the 3rd place for INR 1.02 Lakh and ‘Ashwinvijay’ in the 4th place for INR 81,266.

Big Bubble Rush

Claiming one title wasn’t enough that Sandy Lamba aka ‘Ziggmunddd’ triumphed another event after taking down Wednesday Superstack on PokerBaazi (read above). It was PokerStars India’s Big Bubble Rush INR 5 Lakhs GTD which clocked in 200 hopefuls. Eventually defeating circuit regular Pranav Khandalkar aka ‘pkpok13’ in heads-up, Lamba clinched to the top prize of INR 47K while his opponent bagged INR 34K for finishing runner-up.
