Tuesday Roundup: Arsh Grover, Gaurav Sood, Rubin Labroo Among Others Fought Bravely To Clinch Winning Titles


Tuesday night was indeed a dazzling night on the online poker felts. With big names winning major tournaments, newbies and amateurs also made their presence felt amid tough competition. All in all, it was a thrilling and action-packed night. Here’s what the night looked like:

NPS #15 PLO Deepdive – ₹3 Lakh GTD

PokerBaazi had a bustling night with two prestigious Deepdive tournaments. Players flocked the online poker room with full gusto which left the initial guarantee crushed. The final prize pool stood at ₹ 8.5 Lakh. The tournament attracted 853 entries and the top 99 places were paid a min-cash of ₹1,620.

Deepanjan Das aka ‘Bluffstar’ put his best foot forward to finish at the top spot. He had a payday of ₹1.52 Lakh. ‘advait1087’ finished second for ₹1.06 Lakh, while Guruprasad Gupta took the third spot with the highest five-figure prize of ₹68,580.

Myron Pereira’s seven re-entries didn’t work in his favour as he finished 19th for ₹6,909. Other players like Vivekk Dube (21st, ₹6,909), Kunal Patni (24th, ₹6,141), Sandy Lamba (25th, ₹5,373), Ved Prakash (52nd, ₹3,412), IOPC reg, Mohit Mehta (67th, ₹2,473) and poker pro Sanat Mehrotra (63rd, ₹2,814) were battling it out. Ram Kakkar who re-entered seven times failed to recover his buy-ins as he took the 68th spot for just ₹2,473. Online reg Sanish Chhabra (71st, ₹2,473) also made money but couldn’t make it big. ‘likeaboss85’, who topped PokerBaazi’s NPS #18 tourney finished 69th for ₹2,473. ‘Rohitmalik777’ bubbled at the 100th position to leave the table empty-handed.

NPS#18 Deepdive – ₹8 Lakh GTD

NPS#18 Deepdive was a big hit. The tournament toppled its initial guarantee of ₹8 Lakh. The final prize pool was more than double at  ₹18.84 Lakh. 1,256 entries fought valiantly for the top spots. A min-cash of  ₹2,449 was paid to the top 144 players.

Anonymous player ‘likeaboss85’ won this tourney and took home ₹3.17 Lakh in prize money. Kapil Kumar Vasita aka ‘kapsa92’ was the runner-up with ₹2.22 Lakh. The third spot was claimed by ‘nik3105’ who cashed ₹1.44 Lakh.

Mohit Mehta had a profitable night as he finished seventh, winning ₹53,510 at this tournament along with ₹1,57,500 at the third spot at Adda52’s The Mint and at PokerBaazi’s NPS#15 Deepdive

Gagandeep Singh (31st, ₹9,608), Ankit Modi (34th, ₹9,608), Harshad Barve (35th, ₹9,608), Sanish Chhabra (36th ₹9,608), Sameer Tavanandi (79th, ₹4,144), Kunal Patni (82nd, ₹3,579), Ram Kakkar (111th, ₹2,449), Tanmay Benara (120th, ₹2,449), Sanat Mehrotra (141st, ₹2,449) and Advait Rajguru (144th, ₹2,449) also made it in the money. 

Other poker pros like Mithun Mahesh (146th), Prince Singh (147th), Ritwik Khanna (158th), Aman Parakh (159th), Rohit Behal (160th) and Ved Prakash (178th) also fought hard for the top spots but sadly could not even get a min-cash for their efforts. The most unfortunate player at this tournament was ‘badbeat97’, who bubbled in spite of his efforts at the 145th position.

Mega Stack – ₹20 Lakh GTD

Spartan Poker’s Mega Stack tournament proved to be a blockbuster hit of the night. This tournament featured a prize pool of ₹20 Lakh. The top 55 places were paid a min-cash of ₹9,800. A total of 662 players were fighting for the winner’s title.

Poker pro Arsh Grover aka ‘BiggTymeR’ topped the table by adding ₹3,48,333 to his bankroll. Hitesh Batra aka ‘hiteshbhai’ finished at the runner-up spot for ₹2,85.667. Debashis ‘Dev255-pg1’ Bal’s second re-entry helped him finish third for ₹1,77,800 in prize money.

Rohit Behal (12th, ₹27,400), Surbhit Grover (14th, ₹24,200), Vinayak Bajaj (29th, ₹13,800), Ronuk Lekhraj (37th, ₹11,800), Vishal Bajaj (52nd, ₹9,800), Peter Nazareth (53rd, ₹9,800) and Sandeep Malik (54th, ₹9,800) were among the players who made it in the money. 

It was an unfortunate night for poker pros like Ankit Wadhwan (59th), Aryan Singh (66th), Anirban Das (77th), Manish Lakhotia (86th), Aman Parakh (89th), Kunal Patni (90th), Pranav Bang (91st), Sanish Chhabra (93rd), Devrat Singh (103rd), Gaurav Sood (105th) and Vivek Singh (120th) as they could not get any returns on their respective investments in the tournament. Bubble boy Ashish Ahuja’s two entries proved futile as he got busted at the 56th spot.

The Race – ₹7.5 Lakh GTD

Spartan Poker’s The Race on Tuesday night was indeed a race to the finish line. The prize pool of ₹7.5 Lakh attracted 470 entries to the online felts. The top 39 places were paid a min-cash of ₹5,175.

Poker champion Gaurav Sood aka ‘mozzie17’ won the race and added ₹1,40,097 to his bankroll. Ajit Singh Arora aka ‘Thoda Bahot’ finished at the runner-up spot making not thoda but bahot money (₹1,10,252) for himself. Ronuk Lekhraj aka ‘Redbullwings’ grabbed the third spot for the highest five-figure prize of ₹73,125.

Among other players who made it in the money were Kunal Patni(5yth, ₹46,275), Anish Arora(12th, ₹11,475), Yash Chitre(20th, ₹8,100), Meet Jariwala(25th,₹6,600), Vivek Singh (27th, ₹6,600), Ritwik Khanna (32nd, ₹5,175). ‘Majestic’ bubbled at the 40th spot without winning the min-cash.

Those who couldn’t make it in the money were pro’s like Manish Lakhotia (48th), Siddharth Gangwar (50th), Sanish Chhabra (51st), Vinayak Bajaj (57th), Vivek Singh (60th), Anirban Das (62nd), Devrat Singh (68th), Aman Parakh (69th), Aryan Singh (92nd), Ankit Wadhwan (93rd), Vishal Bajaj (95th), IOPC January 2021 Millionaire United winner, Siddhanth Kripalani (101st), Shardul Parthasarathi (124th) and Guruprasad Gupta (138th).

The Mint – ₹15 Lakh GTD

Adda52’s The Mint was a cool and happening tournament of the night. The ₹15 Lakh guarantee tournament pulled 416 entries to its online felts. The top 43 places were able to grab a min-cash of ₹8,250.

IPC 2020 Champion Rubin Labroo aka ‘kornkif’ won the tournament and added ₹3,72,000 to his bankroll. Anmol Agarwal aka ‘anmol39’ clinched the second spot and cashed ₹2,25,000. Mohit Mehta aka ‘thejokerrrr’ took home ₹1,57,500 in prize money at the third spot.

Aman Parakh (11th, ₹18,750), Sanish Chhabra (14th, ₹15,000), Sanat Mehrotra (22nd, ₹11,250), Vishal Bajaj (37th, ₹8250) and Uttam Kumar Sinha (43rd, ₹8250) were players who made some money.
