Tu Dao, Klostermeier win bracelets at WSOP 2019

Event #77: $3,000 Limit Hold’em 6-Handed

193 entries registered to this tournament at the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas and by the end of the event, Canada’s Tu Dao took down the title after she defeated Alain Alinat in heads-up. She took home a prize of $133,189 along with her first gold bracelet, making her the second female winner of an open tournament in WSOP 2019.

She also finished fourth in the Ladies Event earlier this year and this was a well-deserved victory for the Canadian player who has nearly $250k in live tournament cashes now. “Very excited and happy. My kids are watching, and it makes them very proud. It’s been a long time, and I miss my kids and my dogs,” said Dao after the victory.

Final Table Results:

  1. Tu Dao – $133,189
  2. Alain Alinat – $82,312
  3. Ian O’Hara – $55,749
  4. Chad Eveslage – $38,561
  5. Jan Suchanek – $27,251
  6. Oleg Chebotarev – $19,687

Event #78: $1,500 Pot-Limit Omaha Bounty

Denmark’s Maximilian Klostermeier took down this title after beating 1,130 entries to win the first-place prize of $177,823 and also his first WSOP gold bracelet. In heads-up, he beat Ireland’s David Callaghan and these two were the only non-USA players on the Final Table.

Taking about the victory, Klostermeier told reporters, “I feel great, can’t really believe it honestly, I’ve only been playing poker professionally for a little over a year now and I’m already getting a bracelet so soon. Honestly, PLO isn’t my strongest game, I’d say Texas hold’em is. If we include online events, I’ve only played PLO 20, maybe 25 times.”

Final Table Results:

  1. Maximilian Klostermeier – $177,823
  2. David Callaghan – $109,844
  3. Bryce Yockey – $77,893
  4. Ryan Lenaghan – $55,939
  5. Jason Stockfish – $40,691
  6. Tim Seidensticker – $29,987
  7. Scott Sharpe – $22,391
  8. Heng Zhang – $16,944
  9. Joseph Liberta – $12,996
