The final day of this month’s Spartan Super Series (SSS) happened yesterday with a total of 5 tournaments being hosted, out of which the biggest and the highlight Main Event was won by ‘propernit’ and the second biggest Sunday SuperStack feature tournament won by Arun Karthik. Here’s a round-up of the rest of the events:

SSS #22 – INR 2 Lakhs GTD

The day began with this tournament which had a buy-in of INR 550. A total of 203 unique players were attracted to the virtual felts on Spartan Poker, and the top 31 places were paid. ‘bullet_king’ topped this field and took home the title and INR 46,107 as the first-place cash prize. He beat ‘Hj1008’ in heads-up, who secured a pay-check of INR 31,043.

SSS #23 – INR 2.5 Lakhs GTD

Manas Phadke aka ‘vanPershing’ won the second SSS tournament on the final day for INR 56,349. He beat ‘Johnnymaddog’ in heads-up to secure the title. Phadke beat a total field of 159 unique players¸who had individually paid the INR 880 buy-in for the kill-shot on Spartan.

We contacted Phadke after his win and he said, “I always play several events in the SSS and finally managed to ship the 250k on Sunday afternoon. It was a great feeling to win the whole thing since the Final Table was full of regs. This is my biggest cash till date & certainly want to go on from here.

SSS #24 – Main Event INR 75 Lakhs GTD

This beast of an event was hosted with a buy-in of INR 11,000 and attracted a total playing field of 735 entries (159 re-entries and 222 re-buys). The top 71 places were paid with the min-cash being INR 28,500. ‘propernit’ took home the coveted title along with the INR 14,47,500 as first-place cash prize. He beat ‘ASH1578’ in heads-up.

The last hand saw propernit with an overwhelming chip lead and he was just looking to deal the fatal slash, and with 3c Ac, he did it. It was a pre-flop all-in situation with ASH1578 shoving and propernit calling. The board revealed 7c 5c Jh As Qd and gave Aces for the eventual winner, who beat ASH1578’s high-card Ace. The runner-up settled for INR 9,12,000 on Spartan.

SSS #26 – Big Daddy INR 8 Lakhs GTD

The last event to conclude the day and the series was one of the Sunday marquee tournaments of Spartan, Big Daddy, which was originally created to commemorate the opening of Goa’s Big Daddy Casino. The tournament saw the top 55 places being paid with the min-cash being INR 3,920.

Ritesh Tripathi aka ‘ritesh5812’ took home the INR 1,55,200 first-place cash prize along with the title, beating ‘vidyatammudu’ in heads-up. Gutshot contacted him after his win and he said, “I feel good shipping Big Daddy for the 2nd time. It was a tough Final Table, especially because I was the lowest in chip count entering. I had to play my A+ game to beat those massive stacks. Spartan always hosts some of the best tournaments. Keep it up.

In the next edition, Spartan may be back with another run of the series, which will aim for a new record, as it has always achieved so far. Keep reading GutshotMagazine.com for more such tournament round-ups and for general poker news from around the world.
