Thursday Roundup: Kavish Kukreja triumphs Godfather on Adda52

The action-packed Thursday night saw the top regs strolling out with their prize packages. Truly after some mid-week crisis and relatively lower guarantees, we are once again approaching the weekend, to observe the guarantees shoot up. The entire week noted major players of the country bagging titles, but the star performer was Kavish Kukreja who took down three tournaments halfway through the week. A part of the SSS that is currently underway, Ultron INR 25 Lakhs GTD on Spartan Poker made its Thursday run with a record-breaking field of 603 entries. Each player chipped in a buy-in of INR 4,400 and in due course the prize pool was split among the top 55 places. Riding past the massive field was the prominent figure in the live and online circuit, Arsh Grover aka ‘BigggTymeR’ adding another feather to his heavy poker cap after striking a heads-up deal with Vikranth Varma aka ‘borntrouble’. With Grover carrying a larger stack finished in the first place, pushing Varma into the runner-up position.

Thursday headliner tournament on PokerBaaazi was The Summit INR 15 Lakhs GTD. Once again, the event outdid last week’s field and observed 275 entries, each one of whom registered for a buy-in of INR 8,250. A remarkable run was made by Harsh Kumar aka ‘100crdream’ for INR 4.55 Lakhs triumphing over Ajitesh Bhargava aka ‘bazzinga29’, the runner-up who settled for INR 3.19 Lakhs.

Fate was in favour of Kavish Kukreja adding another victory to an already illustrious list of poker achievements. Kukreja aka ‘narcoss’ took down Thursday’s Godfather INR 20 Lakhs GTD on Adda52 and this time boosting his poker bankroll with INR 5 Lakhs. The champion defeated online reg Ankit Agarwal aka ‘ankitag182000’ in heads-up. In the end, Agarwal walked out with INR 3 Lakhs for the runner-up position.

Winning back-to-back titles in Spartan’s Sunday SuperStack and ReCharge, Kukreja is also a familiar face in the live circuit. Highroller

PokerStars hosts Highroller INR 12 Lakhs GTD each Thursday, and yesterday it was the June’s Millionaire winner Hitesh Batra aka ‘hiteshbhai999’, the online reg who shipped the tournament for INR 2.7 Lakhs eliminating Chirag Sodha aka ‘WhyworrY_56’ in heads-up. The runner-up survived to settle for INR 1.9 Lakhs.
