Thursday Roundup: Akshay Nasa wins Summit on PokerBaazi


The late-night tournaments hosted on the leading online platforms of the country saw the top pros igniting the final table and taking away the cash prize. The recent APT Vietnam Main Event champion and one of the leading players of India, Akshay Nasa aka ‘sherlock52’ strengthened his poker bankroll yesterday night in The Summit INR 15 Lakhs GTD on PokerBaazi. Nasa who finished second in Wednesday night’s G.O.A INR 20 Lakhs GTD, did not back down and once again, raced through the tournament to grab INR 4.41 Lakhs. The champion defeated another poker pro of the country Dhaval Mudgal aka ‘Rehab77’ in heads-up. Mudgal, however, settled for INR 3 Lakhs.

Godfather

Last night’s Godfather INR 20 Lakhs GTD on Adda52 kicked-off at 8 pm for a buy-in of INR 5,500. Topping a field of 431 entries was an anonymous player ‘som22asopa’ shipping the tournament for INR 5.3 Lakhs after beating ‘SpectreLad’ in heads-up who survived to take home INR 3.2 Lakhs.

PokerStars hosts Highroller INR 12 Lakhs GTD, each Thursday night and yesterday it was Ayush Garg aka ‘Kyanaamrakhu’ who finished in the first place after a heads-up deal with a well-known face in the online circuit, Jayjit Ray aka ‘unlucky2k’. Garg added another feather to his poker cap after bagging INR 2,38,492 while Ray walked out with a slightly bigger amount of INR 2,38,917.

9stack’s Thursday flagship event, Thunder INR 5 Lakhs GTD did relatively better, generating a prize pool of INR 5.68 Lakhs from 142 players who registered for a buy-in of INR 4,400. Outlasting the field and claiming INR 1.60 Lakhs in prize money was Manoj Singh aka ‘Arnav17’ who eliminated ‘Brock27’ in heads-up. Eventually, the runner-up settled for INR 1,10,760.
