SVS Day 3: Singh, Veerapalli, Kumar among title winners


The Spartan Value Series (SVS) currently underway in the country’s leading online poker platform Spartan Poker. Each day enticing numerous poker enthusiasts to enter and win big as the series guarantees an impressive INR 52+ Lakhs. And here is a quick summary of SVS Day 3

SVS Event #11 INR 40k GTD

The first event came with the lowest buy-in of INR 165 and a total number of 225 players entered the tournament. Top 17 places received a paycheck for a min-cash INR 628 from the prize pool. Powering through the field was ‘PokerKnight’ pushing ‘luck12’ in the runner-up position and pocketing INR 9,070 in prize money. After the final hand of the tournament, the players settled for a 2-way deal. With ‘PokerKnight’ carrying a larger stack of 380k shipped the first tournament of the day.

SVS Event #12 INR 75k GTD

Rohit Singh is an active player on Spartan Poker, and it was yesterday that he defeated ‘I_AM_WATCHING_YOU’ in heads-up to bag the first-place prize money. The second tournament pulled out 166 players, each chipping in INR 550 buy-in and smashing the guarantee to create a higher prize pool of INR 83,000. The top 15 places were in the money for a min-cash INR 1,494.

In Level 34, both players enter the final hand, placing their individual blinds. Singh raises 24k in pre-flop, holding Js Ah, and got a call from ‘I_AM_WATCHING_YOU’ holding Jc 7c. The former found a higher pair of Aces on the 7s Ac Tc flop and bets 33k while the latter put his entire stack in the middle. Turn and river Qh 6h respectively made no difference for Singh’s opponent and that’s when the winner collects the pot and adds a valuable victory in his poker career.

SVS Event #13 INR 50k GTD

Powering through the field was ‘psyberlyon’ beating his opponent ‘ragib420’ in heads-up. The winner took the limelight by adding the first-place prize money and strengthening his poker bankroll. The tournament attracted a total of 169 players with each chipping in a buy-in of INR 275. The prize pool was later seen to be shared by the top 15 finishers for a min-cash of INR 900.

The tournament reached the final hand in Level 25. The anonymous player ‘psyberlyon’ holding Kc Ad up against his opponent ‘ragib420’ with Ac Qc. Drawing their respective blinds, the former raises 6k and the latter goes all-in. The board runs Jd 9c 4s 7s Td, both players show their cards and ‘psyberlyon’ emerges victoriously with his Ace and King kicker over his opponent’s Ace high.

SVS Event #14 INR 1.5 Lakhs GTD

The buy-in increased to INR 770 yet enticing a great field. The top 15 players obtained a share from the prize pool for a min-cash INR 2,700. Outlasting the field was the well-known online grinder Neeraj Kumar aka ‘SelfClaimedPros’, the champion who defeated ‘acchemicals’ in heads-up.

In Level 29, Kumar (6s 6c) enters with 553k chips up against ‘acchemicals’ (Qs Kd) with 216k chips. Pre-flop saw both players shoving and the board ran 5h Qs Th 2c 6h. Kumar showed his trip Sixes over his opponent’s single pair of Queens and took home the enormous prize money, pushing the latter to the second position.

SVS Event #15 Hi-Fi INR 5 Lakhs GTD

Each SVS day ends with the last event being the Hi-Fi. The final tournament saw 393 players entering for a buy-in of INR 1,100. The top players finishing in money received a min-cash of INR 3,250. It was Naresh Veeravalli playing under the username ‘FreeFlow’ beating ‘kilpauk’ in heads-up.

In Level #37, blinds at 8,000/16,000 ante 2,000, Veeravalli (4c 7h) enters with 2 million chips against his opponent ‘kilpauk’ (Th 5h) with 625k chips. The former now holding a straight, bets 16k on flop 5c 3d 6c and a call from the latter. Ts on the turn, Veerapalli bets another 34k and ‘kilpauk’ raises 110k holding pair of tens. The board saw both players putting their entire stack in the middle. With Qc on the river, made no difference and that’s when Veerapalli triumphed the night, adding healthy prize money to his poker bankroll.
