Sunday Roundup: Sharma, Kochhar, Das, Shetty among big winners!


Following the Janta Curfew in the country due to the pandemic issue, Sunday meant that the poker fanatics of the country were quite free to grind online! Huge offers and jammed-packed action was all that yesterday was about. Coming to the tourneys, Spartan Poker announced tons of winners including SSS Millionaire, Destiny SnG Finale, Sunday SuperStack, Electric Big Daddy and so on. On the other hand, other platforms including PokerBaazi and Adda52 also announced some winners. Here is a complete summary of the winners of Sunday majors…

SSS #61 Millionaire

The March edition’s Spartan Super Series (SSS) concluded yesterday with the main attraction, Millionaire INR 1 Crore GTD that commenced at 6 pm on Spartan Poker. A massive field of 1,238 entries pounced after paying INR 11,000 each and the advertised guarantee was crushed to become INR 1.25 Crore. The top 127 players ended up earning a min-cash but the one to take home the largest chunk of prize money was the runner-up of Electric Big Daddy (read below) ‘darksider’ who boosted his poker bankroll by a 7-digit figure. The latest Millionaire champion defeated Raman Gujral aka ‘tathagat’ in heads-up who settled in the runner-up position.

Sunday SuperStack

A part of the SSS series on Spartan Poker, the Sunday SuperStack INR 40 Lakhs GTD fetched a total of 1,033 entries after each chipped in INR 5,500. This number was enough to smash the guarantee and generate INR 51.65 Lakhs in prize pool, a portion of which was shared among the top 95 finishers. Coming out on top was well-known circuit grinder and India’s best finisher at a WSOP Main Event Nishant Sharma aka ‘FunkyouFTW1’ who eliminated ‘ErrorDetected’ in heads-up seizing the second place payout.

Electric Big Daddy

Spartan Poker’s feature that kicked off at 9:30 am was joined by 618 runners after each one paid INR 2,200 as buy-in amount in Electric Big Daddy INR 10 Lakhs GTD. Once again, the tournament guarantee was surpassed to collect INR 12.36 Lakhs in prize pool and the lion’s share of it was taken away by Arjun Kochhar aka ‘Don Julio’ who grabbed another SSS title after already taking down SSS Event #50 on Day 9. Kochhar outlasted the Millionaire winner (read above) ‘darksider’ in heads-up and grabbed the champion’s title!

Destiny 13.0 Finale

That which began on 15 January 2020, a 10-week long series Destiny 13.0 on Spartan Poker concluded yesterday after the Destiny Finale. A total of 10 winners across each week took their seats yesterday at 6 pm to battle it out and grab the marvellous INR 10 Lakhs worth Las Vegas package! The top players to ultimately grab the top honours were Anirban Das aka ‘pokernoob’ who reserved his seat on 4 March 2020. Following the heels of the winner was ‘Dr House’ who took down Destiny on 22 January and another prominent name, Anant Purohit aka ‘Pro’ who captured the 3rd position after winning a seat on 5 February 2020. All three will be heading to Las Vegas, provided the coronavirus scare clears up soon!

BSS SuperStack

PokerBaazi’s Sunday flagship tournament BSS SuperStack INR 25 Lakhs GTD garnered a total of 629 runners who paid INR 5,500 each to join the field. Crushing the assured guarantee to create INR 31.45 Lakhs in prize pool, the top 72 finishers ended up earning a share from the same. Capturing the winner’s title along with the first-place prize money was Vidwath Shetty aka ‘Qweasdzxc’ who defeated ‘uniorn77’ in heads-up for INR 5.94 Lakhs in cash prize while his opponent settled for INR 4.16 Lakhs in the runner-up position.

Big Slick

Sanjay Kumar aka ‘Floppednuts’ triumphed the Adda52’s flagship tourney, Big Slick AF INR 15 Lakhs GTD for INR 3.53 Lakhs. A total of 1,015 entrants logged in after paying INR 2,500 individually and the top 107 players ended up earning a min-cash from the bigger prize pool of INR 22.83 Lakhs. Kumar’s opponent ‘Tricker2020’ earned INR 3.30 Lakhs for resting in the second position.

Adda52 Millions

With a buy-in of INR 11,000 a total of 354 entries pounced on the field of Millions AF INR 20 Lakhs GTD on Adda52 last night. The top 38 finishers secured a min-cash from the bigger prize pool of INR 35.40 Lakhs. Topping the list was Harshit Chopra aka ‘hashstack’ who earned INR 6.23 Lakhs while his opponent Shravan Chhabria aka ‘sweatmyass13’ added INR 6.22 Lakhs for settling in the second place.
