Sunday Roundup: Anmol Narang, The Biggest Winner Of The Night Grabs The Prize Of ₹17.20 Lakh

If you’re familiar with poker, you’ll know that poker tournaments on Sundays hold the same amount of excitement and enthusiasm for poker players, as festivals hold for everyone. And last night was no exception. 10 big tournaments, prize pools of more than a million, excitement and thrill were definite guests. Here’s what the night looked like:

NPS #48 NPS Mini-Main Event – ₹50 Lakh GTD

PokerBaazi’s NPS #48 as the name suggests was a mini Main Event in the NPS schedule. This tournament surpassed its initial guarantee of ₹50 Lakh and the final prize pool stood at ₹65.8 Lakh as the 1,316 entries battled it out. The top 144 places were paid and the min-cash stood at ₹8,554.

The tournament table was topped by ‘borntrouble,’ who took home a pay cheque of ₹11.05 Lakh. Arjanveer Singh Chadha aka ‘holdbaby’ finished at the second spot with ₹7.75 Lakh, while Shagun Jain aka ‘sogani’ won ₹5.03 Lakh at the third spot.

Sahil Mahboobani was also a part of the final table but got busted for ₹75,100 at the eight place. Rohit Behal (25th, ₹19,940), Chirag Sodha (27th, ₹19,940), Kumar Vatsal (31st, ₹17,450), Kritagya Sharma (35th, ₹17,450), Ankit Wadhwan (37th, ₹14,960), Nitin Arora (38th, ₹14,960), Myron Pereira (44th, ₹14,960), Kunal Patni (48th, ₹12,780), Aman Parakh (67th, ₹9,036), Ritwik Khanna (77th, ₹7,790), Amar Iyer (78th, ₹7,790) and Sagar Chaudhury (88th, ₹6,855) among others made it in the money. 

Those who got busted without making any money were, Rubin Labroo (92nd), Goonjan Mall (111st), Sanat Mehrotra (116th), IOPC January 2021 winner Laksh Pal Singh (121st) and Shashank Desai (131st).

NPS #47 Marathon –  ₹12 lakh GTD

NPS #47 Marathon was another exciting tournament on PokerBaazi, which surpassed its initial guarantee of  ₹12 Lakh by a hefty margin of one million. The final prize pool was ₹22.78 Lakh. The tournament witnessed 1,139 entries. The top 126 places were paid out as the min-cash stood at  ₹3,417.

Kumar Vatsal aka ‘23offsuits’ and Mithun Mahesh aka ‘thepokeraja’ got into a deal, wherein, Vatsal took ₹3 Lakh in prize money and Mahesh had a pay day of 3.59 Lakh. The third spot was claimed by Kritagya Sharma aka ‘Kritagya_17’, who cashed ₹1.76 Lakh.

Mega Freeze winner, Manish Lakhotia (14th, ₹23,240), Shagun Jain (19th, ₹18,000), Sameer Tavanandi (38th, ₹10,250), Gagandeep Singh (51st, ₹8,656), NPS #48 winner, Tanmay Benara (73rd, ₹5,467), The Godfather 3.0 winner, Chirag Sodha (90th, ₹4,783), Sagar Chaudhury (92nd, ₹4,100), Myron Pereira (96th, ₹4,100), Aman Parakh (97th, ₹4,100), Mohit Mehta (104th, ₹3,417), Amar Iyer (107th, ₹3,417), Ved Prakash (117th, ₹3,417) and The Summit winner, Kunal Patni (120th, ₹3,417) were some players who made in the money.

Ram Kakkar (145th), Arjanveer Singh Chadha (157th), Sanat Mehrotra (185th), Romit Advani (186th), Ankit Wadhawan (192nd), Godfather and Recharge winner Sahil Mahboobani (197th), Kartik Ved (198th), Ritwik Khanna (200th), IPC January 2020 winner, Rubin Labroo (203rd), WSOP bracelet winner Aditya Sushant (215th) and Nitin Arora (220th) also battled it out for the top spots but got busted.

NPS #50 Sprint – ₹8 Lakh GTD

PokerBaazi’s NPS#50 took a sprint from ₹8 Lakh guarantee to a ₹14.44 Lakh prize pool, thanks to the 722 entries. The top 90 places were paid and min-cash stood at 3,176.

Amar Mehta aka ‘kidpoker0109’ won the Sprint tournament adding ₹2.61 Lakh to his bankroll. WSOP bracelet winner, Aditya Sushant aka ‘gangajal’ finished second for ₹1.83 Lakh. Puneet Dua aka ‘neo1’ walked away with the lowest six-figure amount of ₹1.18 Lakh at the third position. 

Other notable players like Ram Kakkar (21st, ₹11,840), Ritwik Khanna (26th, ₹9,241), Sanish Chhabra (37th, ₹6,931), Mohit Mehta (38th, ₹6,931), Tanmay Benara (44th, ₹6,931), Amar Iyer (47th, ₹5,920), Shagun Jain (60th, ₹4,909), Rubin Labroo (63rd, ₹4,909), Chirag Sodha (71st, ₹4,187), Myron Pereira (77th, ₹3,610), Laksh Pal Singh (87th, ₹3,176) and Kunal Yadav (89th, 3,176) also fought for the top spots.

NPS #49 Sunday Slam Dunk –  ₹20 Lakh GTD

NPS#49 on PokerBaazi was one of the biggest tournaments on the platform. It featured an advertised guarantee of  ₹20 Lakh, which was crushed by a hefty margin and the final prize pool stood at  ₹31.16 Lakh. The tournament had 779 entries, out of which the top 90 places were paid. Players received a min-cash of  ₹6,855.

Anonymous player ‘panther193’ nailed this tournament for an impressive sum of 5.64 Lakh. Mohak Kapoor aka ‘tiltin’ finished second at this tournament and cashed ₹3.95 Lakh, followed by WSOP bracelet winner, Kartik Ved aka ‘TheInternetKid’ at the third spot for ₹2.55 Lakh.

Sunday Highroller – ₹12 Lakh GTD

PokerStar’s Sunday Highroller was a bustling affair with some edge of the seat action taking place. The initial guarantee of ₹12 Lakh was surpassed and the final prize pool scaled up to ₹13.30 Lakh. The tourney had 133 entries. The top 15 places were paid. A min-cash of ₹13,960 was paid at this tourney.

Shagun Jain aka ‘sogani22’ and Gaurav Sood aka ‘3betPanda’ split the prize money after locking horns for the top spot. Both players took a pay cheque of ₹1,24,657 each. ‘Jaffery25’ finished third for ₹85,498, which was the highest five-figure prize money.

The 15 places paid out included Sagar Chaudhury (6th, ₹40,832), Sanish Chhabra (8th, ₹24,948), and Laksh Pal Singh (11th, ₹16,499). Goonjan Mall (19th), Kartik Ved (20th), Arsh Grover (21st), Amar Iyer (26th), Manish Lakhotia (46th), Ankit Wadhawan (60th), and Harsh Dembla (64th) also fought hard to make it in the money but got busted.

Sunday Special – ₹15 Lakh GTD

The Sunday Special tournament on PokerStars was indeed a special one. The final prize pool stood at ₹15.70 Lakh all thanks to the 314 entries. The top 34 places finished in the money and the min-cash paid was ₹6,570.

Mystery player ‘demons_rulzz’ and Arsh Grover aka ‘BiggggTymeR’ split the prize money and both took home a pay cheque of ₹1,29,791 each. Shagun Jain, who won the Sunday Highroller title at PokerStars finished third at the Sunday Special tourney and added ₹83,710 to his bankroll. He won a total of ₹2,08,367 in prize winnings from the two tournaments.

Other players who made money in this tournament were Ashish Ahuja (21st, ₹9,040), Ankit Wadhawan (26th, ₹7,707) and Kartik Ved (34th, ₹6,570). Sanish Chhabra (44th), Laksh Pal Singh (51st), Sagar Chaudhury (60th), Amar Iyer (63rd), Rubin Labroo (69th), Harsh Dembla (76th), Goonjan Mall (85th)were among those who couldn’t make any money in this tournament.

Adda52 Millions – ₹25 Lakh GTD

Adda52’s Million made sure the top players made millions out of this tournament. The initial guarantee of ₹25 Lakh was surpassed and the final prize pool scaled up to  ₹27.20 Lakh. Out of the total 272 entries, the top 27 places were paid. Min-cash stood at ₹24,480.

Ankit Wadhawan aka ‘d00mtr00p3r’ nailed the tournament and took a pay cheque of ₹7,07,200. Shashank Jain aka ‘felter’ finished second and cashed ₹4,21,600. Juli Kumari aka ‘Lily8’ won ₹3,16,880 in the third position.

Vishnu Khandelwal (8th, ₹68,000), Gaurav Sood (11th, ₹40,800), Arjanveer Singh Chadha (12th, ₹40,800), Karann Dembla (24th, ₹24,480) and Anmol Agarwal (26th, ₹24,480) were also seen competing at this tourney.

Deepstack Madness – ₹20 Lakh

Adda52’s Deepstack Madness was a thrilling affair. The tournament that went on for over 7.5 hours, witnessed 517 entries fighting hard. The final prize pool stood at ₹20,68,000. The top 55 places were paid and the min-cash was ₹9,306.

The tournament title was claimed by Gokul Raj aka ‘Niruha,’ who took home ₹4,96,320 in prize winnings. Bharat Vasan aka ‘rungooserun’ finished second for ₹2,89,520 and Rishab Malik aka ‘Rish1994’ secured the third spot for ₹1,96,460.

Sunday Showdown – ₹10 Lakh

Sunday Showdown on Adda52 was a perfect opportunity for players to showcase their exceptional poker skills. The initial guarantee of ₹10 Lakh was surpassed by a slim margin. The final prize pool stood at ₹10,86,740. The tournament had 483 entries, out of which the top 53 places were paid. The min-cash paid was ₹6,904.

Arjanveer Singh Chadha won the tournament and added ₹2,04,136 to his bankroll. Mohit Mehta aka ‘thejokerrrr’ stood second for ₹1,49,631, while Amit Kaushik aka ‘RagingBull’ finished third for ₹1,09,679.

Goonjan Mall (6th, ₹43,195), Manish Lakhotia (8th, ₹23,208), Vaibhav Roy (12th, ₹12,469), Shagun Jain (46th, ₹6,904), FTS 2.0 winner, Siddharth Karia (47th, ₹6,904), and Ankit Wadhawan (48th, ₹6,904) were some notable players who flexed their muscles on the virtual felts.

The Millionaire Day 2- ₹1 Crore GTD

The Millionaire on Spartan Poker was no doubt the biggest Sunday night tournament, in terms of the prize pool. The tournament attracted 434 entries via tickets. The top 255 places were paid. The min-cash stood at ₹10,400.

Anmol Narang aka ‘luckychewy23’ was the ultimate millionaire who took home ₹17,20,000 in prize money. Anonymous player ‘virgincow’ finished second and settled for ₹9,61,000 in winnings. Anant Purohit aka ‘Prometheius’ finished third for ₹6,72,000.

Money Heist – ₹12 Lakh

Spartan Poker’s Money Heist was indeed a battle to grab the last remaining penny. The ₹12 Lakh guarantee tournament attracted 995 entries to the virtual felts and paid the top 95 places; the min-cash was ₹3,540.

The tournament was won by Anish Arora aka ‘HotsForTheSlots,’ who cashed ₹2,28,960. The second and third spots were claimed by ‘The Thunder Guy’ and ‘Gradatim Ferociter’ for ₹1,41,360 and ₹1,01,040 respectively.

Sunday Superstack – ₹40 Lakh GTD

Spartan Poker’s Sunday Superstack with a prize pool of ₹40 Lakh managed to attract 393 entries. The top 39 places managed to get a share from the final prize pool.

Pranav Bang aka ‘I’mThePlayboi’ shipped this high-value tournament and laughed his way to the bank with 6,83,564. Poker pro, Abhishek Goindi aka ‘MambaMentality’ finished second and cashed ₹6,51,635. ‘Nirmal512’ walked away with ₹3,90,000 in prize money at the third spot.
