SPiCE India 2020 rescheduled for August!


The government has been trying their best to control the spread of the deadly Coronavirus by taking the first step of limiting public gathering, shutting down of casinos, pubs, workplaces, travel bans and much more. With the postponement of several conferences, business meetings, sports, live poker tours, we are here with a great piece of news!

The Strategic Platform for iGaming Conference and Exhibition (SPiCE) India 2020 which was earlier scheduled from 25-27 March at the Goa Marriot Resort and Spa was postponed after the government issued a travel advisory cancelling all existing visas for the foreign nationals other than diplomatic and employment visas until April 2020 to limit the spread of COVID-19.

Eventus International recently announced that the program has been rescheduled for 26-28 August 2020. And the third edition of SPiCE India will be hosted in the same venue. The 3-day event will comprise of the pre and post-event parties followed by SPiCE award ceremony for which the final nominees were announced before the postponement of the event. Other than that, there will be discussions and presentations on the industry by few of the world class speakers.

The categories for the awards include Skill Gaming Operator of the Year (Non-Fantasy), Poker Operator of the Year, Emerging Startup of the Year, Fantasy Gaming Operator of the Year, Technology Provider of the Year, Affiliate Platform of the Year, Developer of the Year, Legal Adviser of the Year, and SPiCE Speaker of the Year.

The cancellation of the event led to the Eventus hosting a special SPiCE India 2020 Webinar on 17 March 2020 which highlighted the recent developments in the country in regards to gaming, maket, the hits and the misses in the year 2019 and the what future has instore. The meeting was joined by operators from all over the world.

However, bookings for the August session is open for the exhibitors seeking to develop collaborations for partnership with other gaming industry, expanding business in the region and learn more about the current gaming regulatory framework in India. SPiCE 2020 was supposed to welcome 40 providers and over 600 attendees through the 12 networking sessions. The entire agenda was to maximize the growth, potential, and networking, further exploring the innovations and advances in the field.
