SPiCE Goa to take place after assessing COVID-19 scare


Government across the country have warned its citizens regarding their travel through the world. With flights being cancelled and trade shows being called off or business and conferences cutting back, all cropped up due to the fear of deadly coronavirus. In 2019 September, Eventus International announced the third edition of Strategic Platform for iGaming Conference and Exhibition (SPiCE) India 2020 to be held at the Goa Marriot Resort and Spa from 25 to 27 March 2020.

Coronavirus has claimed about 3,000 lives, the concern is at its peak in India too. Recently, the Federation of Indian Fantasy Sports (FIFS), country’s self-regulatory industry body for fantasy sports postponed its GamePlan 2020 which was scheduled on 5 March 2020 at Le Meridien Hotel in New Delhi.

Following the scare, in a recent comment on SPiCE’s preparedness about hosting a safe event amidst the novel coronavirus in the world, the event representatives stated that the Eventus International is monitoring the entire situation, “Based on our recent assessment and after consultation with our advisors and key stakeholders, SPiCE India 2020 is on track as per schedule.”

SPiCE India 2020 is just a few days away from expecting more than 40 providers and 600 attendees at the show that will host 12 networking sessions. The entire agenda is to focus on meetings amongst operators to maximize their growth, potential, and networking. Also exploring the innovations and advances in the field.

Day 1 will mainly focus on gaming affiliates, where the panel discussion will center around the promotion, development and improvement in gaming websites. Day 2 of the event, a keynote speech will be delivered by Sai Srinivas Kiran G, the CEO, and Co-founder of MPL. A panel discussion on topics like how gaming companies can take advantage of the Digital India revolution and what’s next for fantasy sports in India. Day 3 will cover the challenges in the casino industry, lottery in India and innovation in online poker and rummy in the country.

Jay Satya, Eventus International Strategic Advisor said, “No one has been tested positive for COVID-19 in Goa to date and the situation appears to be normal. The government has however advised that everyone remains careful about their health and follows basic norms of hygiene at all times.” Two foreigners were suspected of coronavirus in Goa who eventually tested negative on Monday as per the reports. The Directorate of Health Service (DHS) conformed that so far, no positive case of the virus infection has been reported in Goa.

The SPiCE Awards will also be held, and the event will host pre and post-event parties, a gala award ceremony and poker events for the attendees. The ceremony will include 40+ speakers like Satya Mahapatra, Strategy Consultant – Growth & Revenue Optimisation; Yashashvi Takallapalli, CEO, Nostragamus; Aditya Wadhwani, Professional eSports Commentator; Amin Rozani, CEO, Spartan Poker; Ankush Gera, CEO, Junglee Games; Mike Bolsover, CEO, Silver Heritage Group and so on.
