Sahil Mahboobani, Siddarth Singhvi win Oct 2oK on Spartan!

Every month, Spartan Poker hosts a unique online poker tournament called Two of a Kind (2.o.K) INR 15 Lakh GTD for top two where, as the name suggests, there isn’t just one winner but two. In fact, there’s absolutely no differentiating between the first and second place finishers, both receiving the same top prizes!

The tournament is held on the second Sunday of every month and yesterday evening too, it began at 6pm with a buy-in of INR 5,500. The field went up to 767 entries last night and this created a prize pool of INR 38+ Lakh which was eventually distributed among the top 70 finishers with the min-cash at INR 7,670.

2oK always sees the best competition from around India and yesterday was no different, with the tournament going on until 3:15am this morning. There were a number of known names in contention and in the money, and the eventual winners turned out to be two very popular players in Sahil Mahboobani aka ‘HomelessOnWiFi’ and Siddarth Singhvi aka ‘PeterPunter’.

Both are Spartan Poker regulars and also regulars in the live circuit, currently in Goa for the Baazi Poker Tour. Play ended when Vidwath Shetty aka ‘RoronoA’ was eliminated in third place. Pre-flop, Mahboobani shoved with 4♠ Q♠ with 7.1 million chips and he got a call from Shetty who had K♥ A♦ and 1.6 million chips. The board opened Q♥ 3♠ A♣ J♠ 9♠ giving Mahboobani a Q-high flush on the river, and Shetty missed out on the massive pay jump.

Other known names to finish in the money last night include Laksh Pal Singh (9th), Vinayak Bajaj (10th), Deepak Bothra (12th), Sam Anand (19th), Ashish Ahuja (24th), Anant Purohit (26th), Siddharth Mundada (32nd), Zarvan Tumboli (34th), Rajat Sharma (37th), Rajat Mahajan (42nd), Kartik Ved (47th), Pranjal Gandhi (51st), Guneet Kwatra (60th), Ashish Munot (66th), and others.
