India Online Poker Championship (IOPC) kicked off the new year with their mega 10th edition which started yesterday i.e. January 14, 2020. The tournament series is known to be the biggest online poker tournament in India. Gilded in gold, the poker fiesta is offering their highest prize pool guarantee to date, INR 28 Crore GTD along with a luxurious gold crown for the Main Event winner.
The special 10th edition of IOPC will also be the first one to live stream the final tables of selected feature events, the Masters Table, and the Main Event: The Crown. A few months back, India Poker Championship’s (IPC) Final Table Series (FTS) hosted commentators like Maria Ho, Kevin MacPhee among others in the first ever live stream for online poker tournaments in India. This time IOPC will be inviting even bigger names in the industry as commentators for its much-awaited tournament series.
Viewers can expect to see popular poker names like Randy Lew, Celina Lin, Richard Haridasoham, Sangeeth Mohan, as well as comedian Suresh Menon bringing their expert insights and playful banter to the live stream. Here’s all you need to know about these IOPC commentators.
Randy Lew aka ‘nanonoko’ is a popular name in the poker community and is also a Twitch streamer. Lew is a tremendously talented poker player who has amassed over $1.6 million in live poker winnings. Among his many achievements, this hardworking player also holds the Guinness World Record for the ‘Most hands of online poker played in 8 hours.’ A former PokerStars Pro, Randy Lew was most recently hired as a security consultant for Americas Cardroom. With his incredible knowledge and experience in the game, Lew is one commentator that certainly has a lot to bring to the table.
Born in Shanghai, China, Celina Lin is a well-known and extremely talented poker player. She scored her biggest win in 2012 at the Macau Poker Cup Red Dragon Main Event which got her a massive prize money of $110,077. Being the first woman to win the Macau Poker Cup, Lin created history with this win. Also, a former PokerStars Pro, Lin is one of the best woman role models in the poker circuit, especially in Asia. Her expertise on the game makes her a valuable addition to the list of commentators.
Richard Haridasoham has been a part of the live poker scene in India from the very beginning and made headlines when he won the IPC 25K Big Game in 2012. The player also participated in the online version of Indian Poker Pros. Apart from playing, Haridasoham also started a YouTube poker podcast called Poker Rajas and was a judge on Global Poker League (GPL), a poker series that aired on Colors Infinity. The IPC Big Game winner hails from Mumbai will be joining as a commentator for IOPC January 2021.
Also known as ‘SaMoh,’ Sangeeth Mohan is a passionate poker player and is an influential figure in the poker industry. He won the IOPC Main Event in July 2018 and has also won multiple live poker tournaments, including the IPC Highroller in February 2016, the Asian Poker Tour (APT) – Head Hunter in September 2012 and a few more domestic titles. As an active player in the industry for almost a decade, this former Spartan Poker Pro brings a lot of experience with him. Viewers can expect ‘SaMoh’ to heighten the fun in the coming IOPC live stream.
Another big name to watch out for is Suresh Menon: a famous comedian, actor, and television personality. Menon has appeared in films like God Only Knows, Grand Masti, Hello, Chalte Chalte and many more. He also hosts various radio shows and is the co-founder of One Entertainment Network (ONE).
