Ramesh Thotapalli Takes Over Casino Pride 1 Poker Room
Ramesh Thotapalli aka ‘RRT’ will be managing the poker room at the popular Casino Pride. This deal was finalized today and Thotapalli joined the elite club of pros to invest in an accord like this. Casino Pride is a floating casino on the Mandovi river and presents a selected range of exclusive games from across the globe. Talking about the takeover, Thotapalli says, “Running a poker room in Goa was always a dream for me. I shifted to Goa eight months ago, and an acquisition like this in one of the most popular casinos in the country would always be on any poker player or operators checklist. This is like a dream come true.”

Thotapalli will be hosting cash game festivals in Goa which are hosted in Kolkata and Gangtok. While RRT was looking for options to host his cash game festivals in Goa, this takeover turned into a reality. Among the six casinos that are allowed to host poker games in Goa, five are already running successfully.
Thotapalli will be operating the poker room along with Gopesh Mehta, Piyush Choudhary and Juvas Rawal. On being quizzed about his future managements, he said, “Definitely yes! We are looking forward to similar acquisitions to host more games in bigger spaces. The deal in Casino Pride is just the beginning.”
This poker room was initially run by Madhav Gupta aka ‘Maddy.’ Gupta hosted several high value poker events such as India Poker Championship (IPC), UPC, Aces Unlimted, Baazi Poker Tour, etc in the past.
Ramesh Thotapalli is one of the well-known poker players in the country. He has shipped several high value tournaments. Born in the southern city of Visakhapatnam, Thotapalli is the founder of India Poker Bakchods, one of the famous poker pages in the community. This pro is known for his unexpected moves. Thotapalli was one of the commentators during the Final Table Series that took place on Spartan Poker in November 2020. Here’s a fun clip from the live stream:
