Rahul Sengar beats Chandan Arora to win Wednesday Stars


PokerStars is a huge brand in worldwide poker scenario. They opened shop in this country back in April last year with PokerStars India and over the months strengthened their offerings and promotions in the market. Their regular feature tournaments are popular and offer huge cash prizes daily.

Last night’s feature tournament on the platform was Wednesday Stars INR 10 Lakhs. For a buy-in of INR 2,500, the field amounted to a total of 415 entries (including 173 re-entries). The top 71 places were paid with the min-cash being INR 4,753.

After a grind which began at 8 pm yesterday evening and lasted till 3.28 am today morning, Rahul Sengar aka ‘LaughingBoddha’ earned the Wednesday Stars title and the first-place prize money of INR 1,80,027. Sengar beat Chandan Arora aka ‘RunBarryRun’ and the latter bagged INR 1,31,959 as the runner-up cash prize.

Sengar recently made news when he won PokerStars India’s biggest weekly offering, Sunday Special PKO for ~INR 4.51 Lakhs last month. He is fairly regular on virtual felts and has deep runs to his name in previous tournaments. He also won a trip to Bulgaria on PokerYaar last year.

He beat a tough field yesterday in the tournament and will be looking to repeat his success in coming months. “Patient play always pays off. Keep focus. Play calm. Work hard. And it will pay off,” Sengar told us after his win.

Some of the known names to rank in the top 71 paid places were Rohit Mishra aka ‘PillowFight22’ (13th), Suraj Rathi aka ‘bugggsbunny08’ (23rd), Vikram Singh aka ‘Prison M!ke’ (28th), Shravan Chhabria aka ‘lukBo$$13’ (47th), PokerStars India Pro Aditya Agarwal aka ‘Aditya Agarwal’ (53rd), Ankit Wadhawan aka ‘b00mtr00p3r’ (67th), Rubin Labroo aka ‘kornkid4’ (68tha), Nishant Sharma aka ‘DoJingBULLETS’ (71st) and others.
