PokerStars India bids farewell to their Responsible Gaming Ambassador, Muskan Sethi. Her exit comes after Aditya Agarwal and Sharad Rao also left PokerStars India in the recent past. She became the first sponsored woman player from India to have been signed by PokerStars in the year 2018.
Sethi recently hosted Chris Moneymaker for an episode of ‘Off the Felt.’ This boss lady first made a mark in the poker circuit when she was chosen for the PokerStars TV show Shark Cage in 2014. Sethi featured as one of the players on the show and it was a turning point for her career. Here’s a video of Muskan Sethi on the show:
The poker queen is one of the leading players who changed the perception of the game in the country. Majority of the population still equates poker with gambling, Sethi is an inspiration for several female poker players.
Check out comments by other poker players on Sethi’s farewell tweet:
Agarwal exited from PokerStars India after five years, while Rao did so after a year of association. This Grosvenor UK Poker Tour (GUKPT) winner is the Government of India’s first ladies awardee. She was given the award by the President of India in 2018.
Just a few months ago, PokerStars cut ties with Chris Moneymaker and Celina Lin. Moneymaker was the ambassador for the brand for the past 17 years and Lin has been associated with PokerStars since 2010. This is in line with the exit of other poker pros who ended their association with PokerStars in the last few years. Their strategy seems to be tying up with more popular sports players like Ronaldo, Neymar Jr etc.
PokerStars is an online poker cardroom owned by The Stars Group. It is one of the largest real money online poker websites. PokerStars India signed cricketer M.S. Dhoni as their brand ambassador in 2020.
