Have you ever thought that poker is in someway related to love? After mixing the required ingredients, that is patience and good decision, one can achieve the goal of perfect relationship as well as excel in poker. Although, there are a few natural obstacles in the way of love and that of a game. Maybe the secret to attain a happy relationship in the poker world is to win tournaments together.

Goals – Jennifer Tilly and Phil Laak

Popular Hollywood actress who made her appearance in ‘Stuart Little’ (1999), ‘Liar Liar’ (1997), the voice behind Bonnie Swanson in the animated TV show ‘Family Guy’ has over $1.03 million in live earnings. The 61-year graceful, skilled and talented personality has cashed over 18 times in the World Series of Poker (WSOP).

The WSOP bracelet winner, Phil Laak and film actress Tilly first met at a celebrity poker event in LA in 2004 and ever since have been together. Laak was in his best form back then and according to him, it was Tilly who made the first move during the tournament and asked him for his phone number, so she can learn to play poker like him.

They are now recognized as power couples in poker fraternity!

Perfect Poker Duo – Kristen Bicknell and Alex Foxen

The ultimate poker power couple, the Global Poker Index (GPI) Player of the Year title earners, Alex Foxen and Kristen Bicknell, are famous for their epic love story and poker achievements. The three-time WSOP bracelet champ, Bicknell, has been the most successful female live tournament grinder for quite some time. She now has over $5.09 million in career cashes, more than double her earnings prior to 2019. On the other hand, Foxen has $16.81 million in lifetime earnings. In 2018 and 2019, Foxen topped the GPI ranking while his girlfriend headed the women’s ranking (she got this status 3 years in a row).

 

The duo met in the heads-up of the MSPT Venetian Main Event. Both of them split the money, and Foxen emerged victoriously. And from there we learn, couple that grind together, stay together!

The Explorer – Mahima Walia Das and Anirban Das

She is the first-ever Millionaire United winner on one of India’s leading online poker room, Spartan Poker. Mahima Walia Das is the rising star of the online poker industry in the country. Married to circuit grinder Anirban Das in 2014, Millionaire champ Walia, in an interview with Gutshot said,

“I got married to Anirban in December 2014 and he had an inclination towards poker. Post-work, he would come back home and start playing poker. At first, it would lead to fights. But eventually I developed an interest for the game as well.”  The duo love to travel around the world. They even went hand-in-hand to play the 2018 WSOP in Las Vegas.
