Monday Round Up: Mahboobani, Kripalani & Jain Crush Online Poker Felts


After what can only be called a spectacular Sunday run, the online felts on Monday were comparatively quieter. However, the action continued as players weren’t keen on letting the Monday blues get to them. Poker platforms like Spartan Poker, PokerBaazi and Add52 hosted their flagship tournaments and players across the country were keeping themselves busy trying to ship these tournaments. While there were many participants, only the best from the lot were given the winner’s crown. Here’s a full report on yesterday’s action.

ReCharge – 10 Lakh GTD

Trust Spartan Poker to know what it’s players need when it comes to hosting high-value tournaments. While the ReCharge event is usually a ₹9 Lakh GTD tournament, this time the original prize pool was bumped up to ₹10 Lakh. Given that the total entries were 599 and the buy-in was worth ₹2,200 it still crushed the guaranteed prize pool and recorded ₹12,38,000 as the final amount. The top 55 places were paid a min-cash of ₹6,066.

Poker player Sahil Mahboobani aka ‘Captain Falcon’ clinched the top spot in the tournament and took home ₹2,40,172 as prize money. Mahboobani defeated poker player Tathagata Sengupta aka ‘RadioActivity’ who walked away with ₹1,52,274 in winnings.

The Big Show – 7.5 Lakh GTD

The Big Show on PokerBaazi had a great run with 381 total entries and had a buy-in of ₹2,750. The initial prize pool was crushed with ₹9,53,000 being the final prize pool. The competition was fierce but only the top 45 places made the money with each walking away with a min-cash of ₹5,334.

Poker pro and Millionaire United winner Siddhanth Kripalani aka ‘ender’ shipped the tournament and pocketed winnings worth ₹2,00,000. In runner-up position we have Aman Parakh aka ‘KarmaPoker’ who took home ₹1,40,000 in prize money.

Iron Man – 8 Lakh GTD

Players were keen on shipping the Iron Man event on Adda52 which has a buy-in of ₹2,000. The competition was fierce as 527 total entries stormed the tournament on Monday night. This tournament surpassed its original guarantee and recorded ₹9,59,135 as the final prize pool. Among the total entries only the top 55 made the money and walked home with a min-cash of ₹4,316.

Bhavit Jain aka ‘Tyrogambit’ took home the lion’s share of the prize pool as he shipped the tournament and earned a pay cheque of ₹2,30,194. Mystery player ‘sid_inimical’ came in second place and added ₹1,34,280 to his bankroll.
