Juan Pardo Wins €10K EPT Monte Carlo Opening Event

This was Juan Pardo’s first ever live tournament win, after final tabling a couple of tournaments at the recent LIVE MILLIONS Barcelona. He took home the top prize of €201,500 ($246,598), and in a career spanning around 2 years, he has live poker earnings of close to a million dollars already. 

Without much of experience, he beat some top pros from around the world. Commenting on this victory, Pardo said, “It is a dream come true. I feel tremendously happy and proud to have achieved this victory. I had to face good players like Timothy Adams, Stephen Chidwick or Rainer Kempe, but fortunately today things went perfectly.”

The heads-up battle didn’t last long as Pardo had a sizable lead going into it. He played Canada’s Timothy Adams who finally shoved all-in with K-9. However, Pardo had A-K, which proved good enough to win him his first ever live poker title. “He had a big chip lead and I just couldn’t come back. He plays really well. Tricky, aggressive, doesn’t give off much. I’m sure he’ll keep being around,” said Adams about his opponent.
